BMI regional being rebranded as Flybmi?

Thu Jun 21, 2018 5:37 pm

Is this true? Isn’t Flybmi too similar to Flybe?

I think that the airline has been using that title for a while especially on their website as it clearly says FLYBMI.

Flybe is really one word where as FlyBMI isn't as it's Fly B M I.

Similar it may be but I personally don't think it is a problem!

The website does indeed already have the 'flybmi' brandling - you have to dig very deeply indeed before you find 'bmi regional' anywhere.
I only turn left when boarding aircraft. Well, mostly. All right, sometimes. OH OKAY - rarely.

They have LF factors of less than 55% on average, with EMB145s im surprised they are still around.

They have rebranded their old bmiRegional social media to @flybmi - which is what former parent bmi used to use. They also seem to have revered to fly bmi.com, rather than bmiRegional.com

I’m not sure flybmi is a particularly ‘current’ social media or online image, but it’s probably the least of their concerns. Flying ERJs on extermily niche routes in Europe seems to work, but as fuel rises...

Perhaps Flybe and fly BMI should merge to create a real force in regional UK air transportation. Or Flybe make them a franchise partner.

57% in 2017. We'd hope they'd offset that with higher yields, as regionalss need to do with high-CASM regional jets, but we don't know.

That would be quite ironic since many of the E145s are ex-BA Connect/CitiExpress and flew in Flybe livery after BE took over BA Connect!
