What's up with LAN's 787-8 reg. CC-BBG ?

Fri Jun 22, 2018 7:04 am

The airplane in quesiton got delivered in July 2014, so it's a mature and late 788 frame, line number 195, but got stored again in March 2018.

Why would they store this perfectly new plane?

LATAM has at least 12 787 parked awaiting for engines.

I'm booked for a flight on October 1st on a LATAM 787 to EZE so I'm wondering if these engine issues mean that I'll end up flying on an A320 or something like that.

most 787 flights from SCL-EZE is schdule on 767. if you're flying in Economy, great deal. If it's business, a small downgrade but nothing too different.

As long as I don't end up on an aisle seat or the middle row, a 767 is an excellent alternative! :yummy:

12 is a lot to have grounded, how are they managing? Wet/dry lease?

How is it that NZ had four grounded, but seem to have theirs back in the air?

They have now 4 wet-lease a/c from WAMOS Air, 3 A332 and 1 747. Two 77E are joining the fleet soon, both ex-Vim Airlines.
Also, LATAM Chile returned operations with 767, retired from its own fleet since last year and by now were only operating for LATAM Peru.
Maybe, it's not 12, it's more.
Could someone give us more details?

Seems LATAM could really now do with all those A332's JJ had and got rid of.
