pretty big increases here for DR for the winter. I doubt this is response to B6 entrance into SDQ. Probably just the general healthy demand to DR from NY/NJ area.

I thought it was kind of ambitious for them to think they can run 3x daily on LAS/SAN/SEA through SEP/OCT. Pretty much cut back down to regular levels.UA EWR-NAS NOV 1.0>1.1 DEC 1.1>2 JAN 1.1>2 FEB 1.1>2

Maybe preventative to deter WN from opening MDW-SJO/BZE

Seems aimed heavily at MHH and ELH. Maybe they were gettingmsycajun wrote:So far with the ATRs they are planning to open the BKG network at the end of August
Seems far too late in season to even try that.

Reverses a couple of last week's reductions back to the original frequency.

It is a lot of capacity UA is adding from ORD, EWR, and IAH to Central America but it is long over due especially out of EWR and IAH. During the winter months the existing flights are jam packed the additional flights are needed to address a consistent rise in demand that we've seen over the past few years.
For years UA has in a way ignored a lot of leisure markets I'm happy we are finally becoming more flexible with our schedules and our aircraft by adding capacity when demand warrants and when the busy season is over take those same aircraft and move them into different markets. It is a strategy that has worked well for other airlines I think it can work for UA we can't continue to ignore or under-serve leisure markets like we've done in the past. Doing so leave an open door for competitors to come in and meet the demand.
