They do have at least one -700 without winglets. Flew it to Savannah in May. But the vast majority have winglets, and have for years.

STL/MSN/DFW-TPA/RSW all 2/week

These 6 routes only use about 70 hours/week of block time which is less than 1 airplane.

Only 713SY & 813SY don't have WL. All the -700's are on the way out. Should be gone by this time next year. SY decided they want all -800 from now on.

The article titled "Sun Country to start flights in St. Louis and Madison, add more at DFW — but none fly to MSP" (which can be found at http://www.startribune.com/sun-country-to-start-flights-in-st-louis-and-madison-add-more-at-dfw-but-none-fly-to-msp/486573421/) said the following about tomorrow's upcoming SY announcement:
"Sun Country expects to announce additional (non-Florida) routes from another U.S. market Wednesday.

None of the new routes are from Minneapolis-St. Paul, but Bricker said, 'It’s still good for Minnesota.'"

Oct 10th: TPA-MSN 12:25-14:20
MSN-TPA 15:20-19:10

Curiously, MSP does NOT have a TPA flight on 10/10, nor can I find the connecting dot for TPA-MSN. It's not STL or DFW as they will run on the 12th (DFW) and not until Nov for STL.

Pre-cursor of more for MSN tomorrow?

They had announced CVG service last summer but that never came to fruition. Perhaps that's a good thing, at least they won't leave me stranded in Mexico...

I don't get your question. The plane goes TPA-MSN-TPA, right? Why would MSN need another move?

If anything, TPA and presumably RSW is missing a piece (haven't seen RSW's schedules), but as noted MSP so far doesn't start till later and the schedules I have seen don't show a RON at TPA by SY. And as shown below, they all fly from TPA on alternating days, so even if it did TPA-MSN-TPA, or TPA-STL-TPA, it's still missing the next flights and from what I have seen the TPA flights leave mid-day to later afternoon etc.

MSN:
Frequency: 2x weekly – Wednesday and Saturdays
Service begins: Sept. 29
Introductory fares (one way): $74

DFW:
Frequency: 2x – Mondays and Fridays
Service begins: Oct. 5
Fares: $79

STL:
Frequency: 2x – Thursdays and Sundays
Service begins: Nov. 1
Fares: $74

Are they keeping the 737-700's or getting ready if them this year?

They didn’t announce anything, they were just giving examples of cities they’d like to serve.

Disregard, saw earlier sunking post that 737-700's should be gone a year from now.

New destinations or between existing?

EDIT: never mind I think I am seeing it where you saw it. I see an MSY mention.

Wasn't the rumor something out of DFW? Maybe I'm off on that.

Interesting choices.
if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport

Assuming much of this will have some MSP ties as they have the MSP-LAX-HNL routing now.

Not surprising to see a move to grow PDX. It has been largely neglected by most carriers despite strong growth.

its opposite day.... looks like they're eliminating the the MSP routing to HNL, assuming the currently schedule is accurate/complete....
of course they still only scheduled out to 1/19 , *smack my head*. They really need to get their act together!

Looks like the last scheduled MSP-HNL is 9/3.
Remind me to send a thank you note to Mr. Boeing.

I believe ending MSP-HNL was originally planned when they started it. Was to be summer only. I might be wrong, but that is what I recall as I thought it was strange to run for the summer only.

You're absolutely right, it was always summer only from MSP (which I had forgotten), so SY is actually ceasing LAX-HNL for the winter, but running PDX-HNL for the winter season (it appears), without MSP connectivity (other than some repositioning happening with one way opportunities).

Quick question re these new flights looking at the schedule, will the aircraft really sit on the ground in PHX on WED/SUN between 10.30 and 19.20 or fly a charter in between ?
