I certainly hope this happens. I think the Houston, Orlando, Vegas type of flights would do well with the right marketing timing. I flew the Mesa Houston to Fort worth service once and it was very convenient for me.

It was only a matter of time. It surprises me how many people drive from Ft. Worth and even farther to fly out of DAL. This is going to be a great thing for North Texas.
Hopefully UA starts IAH-FTW and restarts IAH-DAL!

The last commercial service was 20 years ago, and the metroplex is at least 2 million people bigger than it was then, with a fair part of that on the west side of the metroplex. Also much more traffic, which makes getting to DFW and DAL more difficult than 20 years ago. That's what is different this time

I actually hope there is an attempt by Dallas pols to impose a Wright Jr. at Meachan.
Then we could have a bit of good old fashioned horse trading -- Dallas says we'll support Meacham if Ft Worth will support a loosening

To limit the "explosive" nature of possible service to Meacham, they should institute incremental caps on passenger air service like the PAE. I wouldn't be surprised if AS would be interested with E-175 service to SEA and PDX.

G4 and F9 make sense. If Ft. Worth wants to be serious, they will need more than just ULCC's. Not sure any of the big three would go in there. WN maybe when they are allowed. I haven't been to Meacham in years, is there any semblance of a terminal?

There was a terminal but it has been completely changed and modified for other uses. As the article notes airlines want to start "soon" in six months but it will take FTW 18-24 months to get it ready. As someone who goes to Ft Worth fairly frequently and the DT/West/Southwest side mostly I, again, am hopeful for this.

Well, I have been saying I don't know how many times commercial service at FTW wasn't happening in the near future, if only because the city has torn down its passenger terminal and made no efforts to attract an airline. Seems I may have been wrong, after all! Still, there is no passenger terminal.
