Will AirBlue ever fly to the US?

Sun Jul 15, 2018 3:09 am

They had A340's so the precedent is there, but what are the odds of it actually happening? Do they even have intentions of Int'l expansion?

You mean the Pakistani airline...? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airblue) I highly doubt we'll see them in the U.S. anytime soon, other than maybe JFK/EWR or IAD...

Considering at the moment they only have 3 A320's and 5 A321's, not likely. Considering PIA doesn't even operate to the US anymore I don't give it much hope.

Air Blue flew to the United Kingdom BHX and MAN but they pulled out after a couple of years, there were many delays with their A340 and also with the A321 that replaced it on the Islamabad route.

Air Blue pulled out of the UK and in a press release at the time stated that it intended to stay more regional.

IF and I mean IF Air Blue started long haul flying again it would probably be a return to the United Kingdom and I seriously wouldn't expect them to start flights to the USA.

But then again not everything revolves around Islamabad or Pakistan for that matter :-)

They would run into Trademark issues with JetBlue if they did.

Remember that United sued United Airways of Bangladesh for trademark infringement once the latter launched service to London.

Not really, Airways vs Airlines plus no resemblance between livery design, colours, logo and wordmark, it was said to be related to false information on interline or code share.

Btw a United Airways is coming up in Pakistan.

While Airblue vs Jetblue is closer and definitely seems inspired, but still quite different.

Flew UK much longer than two years, BHX maybe lasted that briefly, I thought both ened when A340 left, also they used A319/A321 before A340 to MAN via different Turkish cities before going nonstop.
