SQ drops A380 BOM flight

Sun Jul 22, 2018 1:02 am

SQ424/423 being downgraded to 77W. Does this mean EK is the only remaining A380 at BOM?

For the month of March 2019. Who knows what will happen beyond that but at this stage it seems only a temporary change.

Is it partly because, SQ losing bunch of BOM customers flying to SFO/LAX to EK & AI and KE.

Nope, the title is very misleading. During certain periods, SQ tends to drop the A380 during lower demand periods, bearing in mind that Mumbai-Singapore in and of itself is a high-yielding route.

In fact, at the moment SQ is not operating the A380 until 30SEP.

I wouldn’t think so. SQ have a non stop to SFO atm but LAX is 2 stop until November. Just a lower demand period for BOM or the aircraft is needed elsewhere.

The thread title is partially wrong or the poster is misinformed. The down gauge is temporaryonly.
And people talking about SQ losing BOM market, even after downgauging the a380 to a 77W , they still have the highest number of seats to BOM among all Indian cities (including DEL).

Wasn't Etihad also flying the A380 to Bombay? or they dropped it?
