They had quite a bit of slack in their schedule before the MAXes were grounded, so the grounding did not affect their schedules to a great extent. These additional aircraft will significantly boost their capacity. Check mate IndiGo.

I will be truly astounded if DL submits a bid for 9W, but if they do I would expect it to be one of the most highly conditional offers they've ever made, with many strings attached. And surely there must be a big potential payoff of some sort written into the deal beyond simply gaining India-originating feed for their planned USA-India nonstop.

With this the airline's operations at London come to an end.

To talk about what??? Now?? Looks like everyone's waking up now. When this thread was started eight months back our fellow netters probably had more insight than these officials. There is not much to offer from any agency at this time other than a golden handshake.

Not all, many were saying it was a PR hatchet job till the very endOne alleged "journo" and his lackey were blaming it all on Times group, Business-standard, some other "biased journos" and everyone else, even lying that pilots were paid basic salary! They were wondering why the employees weren't raising a stink even when not paid, so all that news should be fake PR hatchet job! They were calling all those posting news on worsening situation in Jet as shills of Indigo etc. Check out the Indian political thread in non-av too.

Agree - but, 1500 crores will do nothing at this time. Can barely pay for refunds. No staff will return without salaries and this start-up money is too late if it does get released. Not to get political, but the elections have nothing to do with 9W fiasco at this time.

Ha - so do we know all the players that submitted?
Btw 9W
s stock is still holding strong - don't understand this. Seems like even if no flights are flown, the stock won't plummet.

How do you know the plan doesn’t involve paying just new bills not old ones for which lessors have anyway withdrawn their aircraft. Heck, the new bills could go to the “new” Jet and the old bills could remain on the old or bad Jet

I don't know Indian bankruptcy law. Please provide a link where they can walk away from obligations. Is forming a bad and good jet allowed? Indian law is so complicated, I'm not sure what is allowed. A form of Chapter 11/7 is obviously needed.
From what I've seen, walking away from obligations is... messy at best. Is there a clean way to avoid fighting every claim?
What is a bidder getting? Opaque legal processes slow economic growth, read Bernstein's excellent books.

You don’t have to take that psychological burden (if any) upon yourself. so, please don’t worry!
pilots are highly skilled and prized profession and of all of Jet’s employees, they are the most likely to find good paying jobs in other airlines

That is where the rest of the world differs from US Chapter 11 restructuring laws, where the preferential hierarchy goes into dustbin and airline management can pay whoever they want, with a Judge's signature, of course.
Most of the world has bankruptcy laws (US Chapter 7) where a company goes into receivership/administration/insolvency, where creditors get paid by the initial hierarchy.
Chapter 11 which is actually a restructure not bankruptcy in true terms, hence the confusion.

The ministry was pretty clear these are temporary grants of slots. Even if Jet goes under, my guess is the GOI will formally allocate the slots through another process
