NFL 2018 Charters (Airlines/Flight Numbers)

Sat Aug 04, 2018 5:20 pm

NFL season is right around the corner, preseason games are starting up next weekend, so its time to start tracking those charters.

Post any NFL charter flight in here so we may all track them.

Anyone know if the Steelers are still going with dual Miami Air B738s like they did last season after AA dropped them?

It wouldn't shock me if the Steelers returned to Miami Air this season; we'll know by Wednesday when they charter to PHL for their game against the team from the wrong side of the state.

Meanwhile...

Baltimore Ravens used a 5Y B744 for their charter to CAK for last Thursday's Hall of Fame Game. 5Y8546 BWI-CAK, 5Y8547 CAK-BWI. Ravens used a third-party (Omni, I think) for part of the season before switching to DL for the remainder of the year (including one of the final 744 flights).

Chicago Bears on UA2539, B764, ORD-CAK-ORD.
2019: DAL, MCI, PHX, LAS, DFW, SAT, ORD, SLC, SEA, DTW, PHL, MIA, LAX; B73G (WN x3), B738 (WN, AA, DL), A20N (NK), MD83 (AA), B788 (AA x2), CS1 (DL), B739 (DL), B712 (DL), B752 (AA), B763 (AA), B77W (AA), B789 (AA)

Why?

The Panthers have used US 321 before and 330.

AA has also used a 777 and 767 for the Panthers and Cowboys.

Washington Redskins will be utilizing their standard UA 757/767 combination depending on the distance.

Does anyone know what the Indianapolis Colts are using? I am assuming Delta.

The Colts will fly IND-SEA to play their first pre-season game.

I sure hope so, they just named Allegiant Air as their official airline of the Colts. if they do use Allegiant they might have more breakdowns then Andrew Luck's shoulder

Excellent! I did catch the HA A330 in CLT a couple of years ago when Oakland played the Panthers. The Seahawks will be in town in November, so I'll have to watch for it again!

There were two DL 757s at the IAB this morning. Likely for the Colts. Guess we will find out tomorrow.

Really lame, especially since the Pens also use them here. Was hoping they’d switch to another carrier with widebodies. :( But I guess as long as it works out for them...

I presume the Cowboys are still taking AA this year...but I can't figure out how they're getting to SJC for tomorrow's game against the 49ers. I know they have a training camp in Oxnard, CA, but I couldn't find anything from any southern California airport to SJC that matches their charter flight.

The Cowboys use Point Mugu NAS for Oxnard training camp. Since today was travel day it looks like the flight is unlisted.

The Broncos used a UA 764 last year. I’d assume they’re using the same this year, but they don’t travel until week 3 of the preseason (against the Redskins) so I’m not quite sure yet

Hawaiian's been the Raider's Charter Airlines for the past 19 years. It was the Seahawks that changed a few years ago. Believe the year they went to the Super Bowl, but Hawaiian will also be flying the Seahawks to all regular season games except to the Bay Area ( San Francisco and Oakland)

Thanks! I guess it must have been the Seahawks who were coming to CLT the year they switched away from HA. Hope to catch them when they are in town this season.

That kinda strikes me as odd that the Seahawks would dump DL, which has a hub at SEA, for HA. I'd be curious as to whether or not the Seahawks would use be using DL for their charters to OAK and SJC.

Well, LL worked out quite nicely for the Pens in two of the last three seasons. I'd guess the Pens gave the Steelers rave reviews about LL for the Steelers to make that decision after AA dumped them (just like US pretty much dumped PIT).

The NFL players union would never allow G4 to fly a charter, given (what I suspect are) the specific requirements of the collective bargaining agreement regarding travel to away games. It's like the Baltimore Ravens using a different carrier for their charters despite having a marketing agreement with WN (which WN apparently inherited as part of the FL merger).

Atlas handed the Jaguars and Cardinals last season. There at least on weekend last season the Cardinals flew east got off the plane, then the Atlas bird would fly down to JAX to pick up the Jags.

NE Patriots flew into CLT this afternoon for Friday night's game with the Carolina Panthers. Their registration, N36NE is blocked on FlightAware, however checking flights between PVD and CLT for today, there was one listed as UDG4322 as a B763. Listening to tower when they arrived, they use the call sign "Underdog".

Anyone know the charter for SU football team? SU plays WMU this Friday in Kalamazoo

I believe they've generally flown on DL 757s in recent years, occasionally a 738 instead.

The runway at AZO is only 6,500ft. And the next nearest airport is BTL which biggest usable runway is 4,835ft, the main runway at BTL is under construction. Are either of those runways long enough?
