Agreed. What a bland livery, can't think of a worse one out there. The A346 is definitely still a looker, though.

Honestly, it looks worse than I thought. Some of B747-400/8i angles looked decent in the new livery, but here to me it just looks so empty.

Lighting wasn't the best, I'll give it that.

It's really hard for me to see an A346 is not a beautiful plane, but this comes close to doing so.

This should mean that LH are keeping A340-600s in the fleet for a while. Great news. Otherwise, they wouldn't have incurred the expense.

Yech. The 346 has a long neck and it shows on this. 90% solid white... looks like an unsold aircraft sitting at Paine or Toulouse.

Also why does the blue end on the tail before the leading edge of the tail? The 747 tail was completely blue vs this white sliver.

Boring AF. A lot of ugly, white real estate on such a gorgeous bird.

Wish the LH rebrand could be used as a powerful statement of things to come in the future. I know opinions vary, but I'm not at all enthusiastic about these changes.

Not necessarily if the plane was due to for paint anyway they will put the new colours on, not the old ones. I don't know if LH are routing planes early for paint or not but most livery changes not associated with a merger are done at the next normal check cycle that requires stripping and painting of the aircraft. Plane is painted anyway so no additional cost.

Doesn't look bad, although I think the Lufthansa title should be further back a bit. While I get the dislike for the new livery, the old one was honestly just as boring so I don't see why everyone is freaking out about it.

Does LH own their A346 or are they all leased thus required to keep them nice for lease returns?

Way too much white, and the text is too close to the front.

A very beautiful plane and livery! No cartoon characters, internet addresses, or anything else that would interfere with the graceful lines of this airlines' aircraft. Job well done and probably very cost efficient too.

That's a sharp looking plane -- in a way, the sparse livery only shows off the lines. The A346 will always be a favourite.

What's the registration?

BTW, a few of the A346s are leased, under sale and leasebacks with Japanese banks.

"The plane looks too plain." It works on the equally long 748i, yet it doesnt flatter the A346. Funny that
LH has decided to leave the yellow off.
The bird needs it! :irked:

As Homer Simpson would say: "BOR-ing!!" At least they could have painted the engines blue or silver or something, just to add color to all of that white acreage. So sick of Euro-white!

If I didn't know that this was LH's new livery and I saw it for the first time, I would have easily assumed that the aircraft was headed to the scrappers. :white:

Hey guys,
I have to admit that the new Lufthansa livery is growing on me... But I would love to see a bit more silver and/or yellow introduced.
The A340-600 looks fabulous in that video clip. Personally I think the title placement is perfect as is the strip of white on the tail.
I definitely will buy that as a 1/400 model to add to my collection of Lufthansa models!
Cheers,

I personally really like the livery on some of LH's aircraft, looks very professional and modern with the white and blue, but for me the A346 is a bit too long for the livery, but it is still better than the old livery on the A346 IMHO.

Well, I guess the effort now goes into keeping it (and the hundreds other) clean!
All White is definitely a harder job to keep pristine I reckon than 'mostly White and partially grey'!

So sad to see that Lufthansa ruined their livery. This looks pathetic.
Looks like a HiFly A340 on wet-lease to Lufthansa during high season.

Anyway...

Greetings Folks, I quite like the new livery, however the management could have given consideration to placing their logo on the engine nacelles.
It would have IMO relieved the somewhat stark and clinical white fuselage.
Nonelteles it is a welcome change.
Now to upset some , when are SQ going to enter the 21st Century!
Regards , 325 I.

Are we sure that this is the revised new livery? It still looks too dark for me...

And as others mentioned, why didn’t they put the titles right between the two doors?

Will be interesting to hear Na‘s opinion...

How is the revised livery different from the original livery change? A lighter blue on the tail?

Yes, but somehow I fail to identify this livery as the revised one... maybe it’s too early in the morning... or maybe the sun wasn’t shining when the video was taken... ;-)

Well, the issue isn't comparing old to new. But rather, when a decision is taken to rebrand, then taking that decision and working to deliver something powerful and refreshing, which resonates well with the brand and carries something through for years to come. This just looks like a cheap effort, even though LH has released videos detailing how in-depth the rebranding process was.

Looks every bit as bland as I expected it would. It also bothers me that there seems to be little consistency with regard to winglet logos: the A320neo, A350 and CRJ900 have them, while the 747-400 and A340-600 don’t. They would add at least a little bit of character to that endless expanse of white.

Totally agree with you, although I would like the see the insides of the winglets matching the tail - dark blue!

Perhaps Lufthansa are going to have a competition with Air France to see who can have the dirtiest aircraft. What a lazy job..looks cheap.

Very elegant. The classic luxury-yacht theme. Gleaming white all over, with blue accents. I really love that the wings are all white, and not dull grey like all other airlines.
However, the aircraft washing department will soon need to employ a few more people. LH surely doesn´t want to rival Air France, as then all the effort of going more "premium" will be in vain!

It looks much cleaner than an Air France for now and the elegant silhouette of the A340-600 never disappoints me.
Still, if I see this plane waiting for me at the gate, my thought will be that my plane is stuck in maintenance and that Lufthansa quickly wet-leased that big white thing as a substitution plane.

Sorry I don't agree. There are always costs in doing extra work, and I too think this indicates that LH plan to keep at least some of their 600's for some time to come.

As for the new livery....it's growing on me.

Kind of sums up what's left of the UK aviation industry. We can paint anything as long as it's simple and white. I bet the blue bits were flown in from Germany.
