Didn’t DL do ATL-NRT for several years with later build MD-11s? I don’t care what anyone says, those ‘96s had respectable range.
Did you know that a Boeing 717-200 is really a McDonnell Douglas MD95-30? ;-)

You’re admittedly young - which is great. It’s young enthusiasts that will ultimately keep sites like this going. I was a much younger person when first started visiting this site nearly 20 years ago. Like any team or club, there’s “unwritten” norms and etiquette that exist (even if they don’t make a lot of sense). When someone does something different it can make folks ornery. I’ve been guilty of that on here! Take some time and read through other posts on this forum that involve questions and answers (tech/ops is a good place for that). What you’ll find is that the best way to get thoughtful answers to your questions is to do a bit of research first (using google, etc) If you get an answer that way, and you still have questions, go ahead and ask it here. For example, a good way of handling your question about Biman would be “Hi, I googled about the last passenger DC-10 flight. I found out that it was in 2014 with Biman. I would like to know if anyone here has insights on how many DC-10’s are still flying, and how much longer do people think that will be the case before they are all completely retired?” Then sit back and wait for answers. Try not to ask the same question twice. Trust that people will see your question and if they have a useful answer, they will respond, even if it takes longer than you would want.
You’ll find lots of valuable information in this forum from lots of pretty smart people, so don’t get discouraged if it takes a while for you to understand the best way to act on the forum. Watch and learn from (most) others. Enjoy!

Forget about all those comment. A lot of people here are more than happy to answer. Flew the BG DC10 in 2013 between HKG and DAC. Was a rather nice. We're only 5 pax and the captain Kindy allow me to visit the flight deck during the flight

Well, the DC-10 was a good and reliable aircraft, but it had several design flaws that became very apparent following crashes. TK981 was the first in 1974, then AA191 in 1979 and UA232. Many other DC-10 were destroyed in ground fires, aborted take offs, wrong runway landings, and other circumstances, but these three, particularly the first two, produced a lot of negative publicity. Not the case
If not for the skill of several DC10
pilots several in flight incidents would
have had a much worse ending
Look up the AA incident out of Detroit
not to mention of course UA 232 in
Sioux City
MD finally sorted out the DC10 but at
first it had serious design flaws that cost
a lot of lives, outstanding airmanship
lowered that number significantly
The best contribution to safety is a competent Pilot.
