PVG runway questions

Fri Aug 17, 2018 6:55 pm

I know that PVG's third runway opened back in March of 2008. Was this one of the present runway 35/17s on the west side of the airport?
Was the fourth runway that opened in March of 2015 also on the west side?
Thanks for any replies.
Cheers.

PVG has two twin sets of parallel runways either side of the vast terminal complexes in the middle. You'll need to do some research as to which runway opened when.

Yes, the "third runway" is the current 17R/35L.

No, it's on the east side (current 16L/34R).

And they're about to open a 5th runway, also on the east side, numbered 15/33.

Thank you danvs for taking the time to post your informative reply. As runway numbers may change over time as airports expand it can be virtually impossible find answers on websites to questions such as the one I posted.
I’m grateful that this space exists for people with similar interests to ask and answer questions.
Thanks again.
