Ok, now that's more assuring :?

It was also fixed.

FWIW, western manufacturers fail these tests from time to time too. Wasn't it the 777 that initially failed the static wing tests? And the 787 had some notorious wing-cracking problems too.

The 777 passed the static load tests very well. It went to 154% limit load before failing, exceeding the 150% limit load it needed to reach. This excess structural capacity was one of the factors that allowed the 777 to develop into such a useful and widely used aircraft. By comparison, the MD-11’s wing as initially built failed prematurely (I can’t find a reference right now, but the number 141% is sticking in my mind), requiring MD to redesign the wing structure. This led to increased aircraft weight, missed range targets, cancelled orders, and eventually the demise of the programme.

MD-11 missed on weight, aerodynamics, and engine TSFC. All fixed, but a reason AA cancelled.

The issue with the ARJ-21 is that the problems persist. I'd love to know the real dispatch reliability numbers. Anything worse than 99% is bad, but the first year 98% isn't unusual. With over 2 years.. meh.

http://www.caac.gov.cn/XXGK/XXGK/TZTG/2 ... 93831.html

Genghis Khan Airlines has moved significantly closer to starting ARJ21 ops, as per CAAC's latest public notice today on Jan 4th aimed to elicit public feedback before issuing a business operation permit for public air transport to the proposed startup carrier in Inner Mongolia

The notice says that CAAC has permitted the airline to buy 3 ARJ21 jets from COMAC

Having registered with relevant int'l aviation organizations, Genghis Khan Airlines is going to have NMG for its three-letter code, 9D for two-letter code

The startup has now signed work contracts with 21 pilots, 10 maintenance staff, 12 flight attendants, 3 security staff, 4 dispatchers, 6 transport staff

Really love the white livery and the beautifully-presented Chinese characters on the fuselage (looks to me way better than that of EU’s)

Best luck to 9D for an early inaugural flight and smooth ARJ21 ops

Nice livery on the ARJ-21. Looks like a DC9-10 with a MD88 tail and CRJ engines. I hope 9D does well in thier niche, the ARJ can prove itself if its utilized correctly.

As per the Weibo account of China Aviation Yingcai Network (https://m.weibo.cn/2253672532/4332038137453616), Genghis Khan Airlines and Chengdu Airlines signed a cooperative framework agreement in Hohhot today Jan 24th in a variety of fields ranging from operational info sharing to financing in a bid to push for ARJ21 operations at a considerable scale via joint efforts

It is reported that 9D would take delivery of its 1st ARJ21 jet from COMAC on Feb 22nd next month, and launch ARJ21 inaugural flights in late Mar at the earliest

All sounds good so far for 9D. Maybe there are already many aviation geeks eager to experience its service as soon as possible

Genghis Khan Airlines has taken delivery of its maiden ARJ21 jet today Feb 22nd at Baita Airport in Hohhot. A lively welcome ceremony was performed with strong local ethnic flavor

Big congrats to 9D :D

As an all-ARJ21 operator as well as being the 2nd commercial operator of the aircraft, 9D has a total of 25 ARJ21s on order from COMAC to be delivered over five years time

9D's 1st ARJ21 is also COMAC's 12th aircraft of the type, with the previous 11 ARJ21s all delivered to Chengdu Airlines, actually a subsidiary of COMAC

Surely ppl will be watching very closely how ARJ21s perform under 9D that simply has no other aircraft types to fall back on when things go wrong as EU does

Nice, i hope the ARJ serves them well, i like seeing other aircraft manufactures getting into the market. The ARJ has had many delays but hopefully it can gain a good reputation now.

Dispatch reliability should be much better than we are seeing at EU. It quickly costs more for bad timeliness than fuel. DL has learned customers pay the most for on time arrival. Either the arj delivers better reliability or 9D is done.

Well, that all depends on who's backing 9D. If that's COMAC or the provincial or central government, the number of customers may not matter much.

That cockpit looks like a mash-up of Boeing (windows and switches), Bombardier (FMS), Antonov (screens), Embraer (pedestal and MCP) and M-D (yokes). Yeesh!

Genghis Kahn Airlines?
This mass murderer, one of the biggest of all time, destroyer of everything. Might as well start a Adolf Hitler or Josef Stalin Airlines.

“It has been calculated that approximately 5% of the world's population were killed during Turco-Mongol invasions or in their immediate aftermath. If these calculations are accurate, this would make the events the deadliest acts of mass killings in human history.”

“The total population of Persia may have dropped from 2,500,000 to 250,000 as a result of mass extermination and famine.

China reportedly suffered a drastic decline in population during the 13th and 14th centuries. Before the Mongol invasion, Chinese dynasties reportedly had approximately 120 million inhabitants; after the conquest was completed in 1279, the 1300 census reported roughly 60 million people.”

“Historians estimate that up to half of Hungary's population of two million were victims of the Mongol invasion of Europe.”

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruc ... gol_Empire

Etc etc

“The Mongols' destruction of the irrigation systems of Iran and Iraq turned back centuries of effort to improving agriculture and water supply in these regions. The loss of available food as a result may have led to the death of more people from starvation in this area than actual battle did. The civilization of the Persian Gulf region did not recover until after the Middle Ages.“

How come there are games and “cool” hollywood movies and now an airlines of this guy?

The mongols then where even by old standards extreme terror and destructive.

Only if Genghis Khan was alive today then this airline would have been bigger than EK. At the moment he would be just turning in his grave.

I know it ain't gonna happen and this airlines will prob. fail soon, but A220/Cseries would have been a better choice.

ARJ21 starts commercial operation with 2nd operator Genghis Khan Airlines today Jul 26!

Huge congrats to 9D :champagne:

Noteworthy the marketing director of COMAC Zhang Xiaoguang said in an interview with CCTV that the number of domestic operators of ARJ21 is expected to be up to 7 or 8 by the end of 2020 next year; an international launch operator will be from either Africa or Southeast Asia, whose name will be specified no later than late 2020 with overseas ops to start in 2021.
