CX 777's to US West Coast and ORD vs Australia
Just wondering why the CX777's that fly to the US East Coast & ORD never seem to fly on the Australian routes? Assuming they have a different layout since they are likely the longest CX 777 routes? Could be wrong though? Anyone know how this works?

US birds are the aircraft within First Class, while the Australian ones most likely don’t feature F. I wanna say that isn’t right though because I feel like CX would operate F to Australia.

Most CX routes to the US have first class. Generally, flights to Australia do not, unless it is a last minute equipment sub. 77H and 77A do have first, 77G and 77K do not.

Surprising Cathay doesn't do First Class to Sydney since they could sell First to London and JFK. Flew CX First in July to LHR and the legend lived up to the reality.

The demand is not there, QF did not sell F cabin with their A380 and 747 service as well (QF started to sell the A380 first class cabin from this year).

CX have been sending some 4 class 77W’s to SYD recently due to 77W refits. They are not selling F however and haven’t done to Australia for probably a decade or since the A333’s lost their F cabin. AKL was the last route down this way that got a seasonal F for 3 months when they ran the 744 from 2008/09-2011/12 period.
QF sold F to HKG on the 744 way back from both SYD/MEL/LHR last when LHR was dropped in 2012, that flight originated in MEL.

i'm not too sure how much of the first class CX does sell out to JFK. My guess is a good amount of that is filled up by award tickets and upgrades.
