Rumour: LATAM adds more frequencies on the EZE-MIA route

Sun Sep 16, 2018 3:22 pm

LATAM Argentina is adding 3 extra weekly frequencies on the busy EZE-MIA route, just in time for the summer peak travel season.

4M 7820 EZE 21:35 MIA 05:00+1 D 763
4M 7821 MIA 20:15 EZE 07:25+1 D 763

4M 7822 EZE 23:50 MIA 07:15+1 246 763
4M 7823 MIA 19:35 EZE 06:45+1 357 763

As an interesting side note, LATAM does the same with these planes while in MIA as AA and UA do with their planes while in EZE: they undergo light maintenance at the LATAM hangar in MIA.

Any chance they'll add more intentional routes from EZE?

EZE-CUN next year with 2-3 weekly frequencies. I don't see any more long haul flying for LATAM out of EZE other than, maybe, MEX in the future. ANY chances of EZE being a meaningful east coast focus city for long haul for LATAM went up in smoke the day LAN got a hold of TAM and the GRU hub. The latter is much better located geographically-speaking, a larger economy and with a larger catchment area to boot.

Glad to see the market growing and AA bringing MIA-COR down the pipe for next April.

There had been growing concerns for Argentina routes given the current economic climate. In the past 6 weeks the Argentine peso has devalued from 28 pesos per USD to 40, and I have several friends and family members who have scrapped their plans to travel abroad because of this. Looks as though the airlines are looking at this with a much more long term focus.

And LAX-EZE in December on AA.

It is important to remember that travel goes both ways: if some Argentinians are shelving their plans to vacation abroad this summer, many foreigners are dusting off their plans to visit Argentina, South America's #1 tourism destination. And numbers are already supporting the trend: while international travel from Argentina dropped 4% YoY in August, international arrivals increased by 5% YoY.

I am not sure who added rumour to the title (moderators??) but these flights are already loaded on distribution systems. While I understand striving for accuracy, this is an aviation enthusiasts' board. Do we need a registered letter from LATAM to make it a fact? Geez...

It is not a rumor; we are adding more flights.

GRU-the USA is not quite so simple because of visa requirements. You do not need a transit visa, but passengers often like to be able to spend time (one direction, at least) at the stopover. It is easy for Argentina.
