This is excellent news - I was looking at this route just yesterday - there are suprisingly few options on it.

No confirmation on where or the registrations. They are 4 E190 used joining from early 2019.

I am surprised Lufthansa does not operate this route. Apparently it was operated in the past and chopped in 2012.

Lufthansa to axe LCY-Munich route

16 May 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Lufthansa is to cease flights between London City (LCY) and Munich from October 26. Until that time Lufthansa’s twice daily weekday service continues unchanged between LCY and the Bavarian capital.

Indeed, 'flights will be grounded', 'we will need visas to go to the eu', 'we will need to pay to get into the EU' and 'we will have 17 mile queues at Dover' and 'the French will stop Eurostar trains'. Maybe BA didn't get the message.

The doom mongers being the incompetent fools themselves who are actually doing the negotiations on behalf of the UK (if presenting a ridiculous plan and being told to f*** off with it even counts as "negotiation"). They are not just random outsiders.

Augsburg Airways launched the route in 2001 with a Q400, while Cirrus operated the route with a Dornier 328 twice daily from 2004 onwards. Apparently it was taken over by Cityline in 2007 with RJ85s and axed in 2012.

Augsburg was the first airline to operate the Q400 at LCY, IIRC. I found a trip report from 2002:
