GOL To Cancun from Brasilia

Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:09 am

GOL will fly, effective June 2019, between Brasilia and Cancun, 4x weekly with the 737-MAX 8.

BSB 09:50 CUN 15:40 1357 7M8
CUN 22:30 BSB 08:20+1 1357 7M8

Timed to allow easy connections from points in Brazil and Argentina at the BSB hub. At 3,664 miles, this will be the 3rd longest by distance MAX 8 flight, behind #1 BSB-MCO also on G3 and #2, EZE-PUJ on AR.
Keep calm and wash your hands.

Will be interesting to see whether AM or DL introduce any connectivity with or codesharing on this new flight.

Great add from G3. However fly ~8h in a 7M8 confugured in all economy layout, 186 pax, 30' pitch hurts.

AM probably will.
They already code-share with GOL out of GRU to feed their MEX flights. I wouldn't be surprised to see G3 eventually code-sharing on AM's CUN-MEX/MTY/GDL.

DL is code-sharing on BSB-MCO/MIA and FOR-MCO/MIA. I don't think they care about any BSB-CUN-USA feed.

Ground time in CUN: 6 hours, 50 minutes
Ground time in BSB: 1 hour, 30 minutes

That's a significant ground time in Cancun - might GOL be getting a good deal on maintenance?

Talking about longest MAX flights, isn't PTY-GRU also one of the longest routes by a MAX, in this case the CM MAX9?

Flights are times to facilitate connections at BSB.

CM has not announced yet when GRU will be a route flown with the MAX 9, I'd imagine it'll be at some point in 2019. But in any case, it is 500 miles shorter than BSB-CUN at 3,154 miles v. 3.664 miles.

It could be less than 30'. I recently flew on their regular 738. PR-GUN , CNF-GRU and I had the worst experience of my life. I'm not tall (178cm), regular body, and I couldn't fit the seat. My knee was 2 fingers away from the seat ahead and mobility was horrible due to the position of the tray table ahead of me. At least the seat cushion is comfy, there're adjustable head rest and windows are finally aligned with the seat.

I would never recomend GOL for anyone.
