Hi Fly A332 CS-TQP is currently inbound to Dublin from Brussels on an Aer Lingus callsign, seems they're down an A330/Crew and will use this tonight.

Earlier today an A343 from Hi Fly arrived in Dublin, maybe this is also for Aer Lingus.

Apparently Aer Lingus are short 3 A330 flight crews for today’s flights, two hire ins expected and the 111 cancelled from Shannon to operate the 109 from Dublin. They really need to sort out their pilot numbers from the looks of it, it’s starting to look a lot like the Ryanair fiasco last year with lots of crews running out of hours and getting burnt out after a long summer. They’ll definitely need to review the practise of always cancelling the 111, it’ll make it very unattractive to passengers if it becomes known that it’s the first flight to go the moment there’s any disruption.

Are there ever any pax or cargo on the Shannon to Dublin ferries? I’d imagine it could be a wise way to disperse the transfers.

DUB is in a different league to CPH, IMO - and from what we've heard, DUB is doing well for CX.

Belfast City Airport security refit 'cuts wait times

Belfast City Airport has opened a £1.5m refurbishment of its security area that it has said will reduce security waiting times to six minutes.

The investment has seen the introduction of new security lanes, scanning equipment and electronic boarding pass gates.

Mark Beattie, operations director at the airport, said the new system had "received hugely positive feedback".

He said "much of the security process" had now been automated.

"Over the past number of weeks, we've been monitoring passenger flows. We're confident six minutes is the average time it should take to pass through the new security system."

It arrived last night at EWR at 9:15pm EST and took off this morning at 9:27am EST, I assume this was because the crew had to rest? HiFly hardly had a crew waiting in New York for the return. Well according to the Dublin Airport board, tonight’s departures from EWR & ORD are both cancelled

Swiss expand Cork-Zurich from 3 to 4 weekly (all CS300) next summer and begin a full summer season but looks like there is updating to be done between April/May. 2019 will be a good yer for Cork as things stand. Dublin-Zurich gets some extra freq off peak and a consistent second daily departure time.

Nice to see it's possible again to use LX to and from Moscow. I missed being able to use them. Just an enjoyable all round experience. Now if only Austrian would join the battle!

With Laudamotion starting DUB-VIE daily, along with up to 2x daily on EI.... I really annot see OS entering the fray. Any connections eastbound are covered with LH and LX.

I agree that LX / LH cover Eastern Europe and the CIS but not always easily. Better connections through Frankfurt but not a great fan - too many missed connections. Zurich is easier but connections, because of current LX timings, are no great. Maybe the second LX flight might offer more

Talking about the EI brand refresh I hope it's nothing like the latest OS brand refresh. It's bloody awful. The previous brand was super, especially the shades of blue!

Air Canada have reduced Vancouver from 5 to 4 and increased Montréal from 4 to 5 weekly next summer.

Other notable schedule changes are Aer Lingus defer MCO/MIA by 90 minutes (16.30dep) in 2019 which should improve connections and American ORD moves to 13.35 departure (08.00 arrival unchanged). ORD change possibly JV related?

The AA ORD flight is now perfectly between both EI flights ex-ORD and ex-DUB, must be future JV planning. Now if only they'd make it year-round!

08 October 2018, Moscow – Starting from 28 October 2018, Aeroflot will operate regular flights to Dublin, the capital of Ireland. Daily flights on Airbus A320 aircraft will operate on the following schedules:

Moscow-Dublin (all times local):

- flight SU 2590 will depart Sheremetyevo at 19:20 and arrive in Dublin at 20:45.

- return flight SU 2591 will depart Dublin at 21:45 and arrive at Sheremetyevo at 04:50 +1.

I guess laughing YVR has to be balanced against the current SEA route. A lot of Canadians report crossing the border for lower taxes in US airports. Most specifically PDX, of course but SEA to a lesser extent. Could EI feel they cover the Pacific north west sufeciently at SEA, for now?

I would say so. If their DUB-SEA route continues to do well, then they'll probably increase the frequencies on that flight before anything else...

That said, the Club Europe legs from DUB/LHR/DUB were actually very good although the BA First lounge at LHR T3 was laughable, we left the stale M&S sandwich seconds and went to the Qantas First Lounge - now that IS a Lounge.

Did you arrive at T5? You could've used the Concorde room, at least that’s on the level of Qantas/Cathay’s lounges. Galleries First lounges are a joke.

Well on BA you already have to pay for advance seats in Club World unless you're on a Flex ticket or have OneWorld status, so it wouldn't surprise me to see this on EI, those throne seats could surely command a premium.

We used the Concord room on the return leg, it's not bad but the lavatories are really shabby, in a generally less than stellar state. Used Dublin Platinum services outbound and return and they were exemplified as always.

Great addition. Calgary is a fantastic start point for the Rockies, Banff etc. The growth of Canadian routes over the last few years is amazing, probably not too many more new routes left. I just hope the route is more reliable than their less than stellar 767 services to LGW last summer

Are there any stats out there for TATL travel? Would be interesting to see how DUB stacks up against the rest of Europe. I've seen it mentioned that it's the 5th biggest hub but never any hard figures.

Off the top of my head that's at least 5 more TATL routes for next year (MSP, YUL, DFW, YHM and now YYC) and hopefully plenty more to come once EI get their new planes

New September Record As Dublin Airport Welcomes 2.9 Million Passengers

More than 2.9 million passengers passed through Dublin Airport last month, a 7% increase on last year, making it the busiest September in the airport’s 78-year history.

Passenger numbers to and from continental Europe increased by 8% with almost 1.6 million passengers travelling to and from European destinations during the month. Just over, 821,000 passengers travelled to and from UK destinations in September, which was a 1% increase over the same period last year.

Transatlantic traffic to North America increased by 13% in September, as almost 426,000 passengers travelled on this route sector last month.

Almost 90,000 passengers travelled to the Middle East, North Africa and Asia Pacific region, an increase of 18% when compared to last year. The number of passengers taking domestic flights increased by 24%, with more than 9,300 people travelling on domestic routes last month.

5th largest is more less marketing speak and true but it depends how you analysis it:

WestJet To Operate Route With Dreamliner 787 Aircraft

Dublin Airport welcomes today’s announcement by Canadian airline WestJet that it will launch a new direct Dublin-Calgary service next summer.

The new route will operate three days per week with a Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft and will be the only direct scheduled service between the two cities. WestJet’s new Calgary service will also offer potential onward connections to 24 destinations including Vancouver and Las Vegas.

“It’s great to see yet another Canadian destination added to the growing Dublin Airport network, and to see WestJet expand its operations in Ireland.” said Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison. “Calgary, which has about the population as Dublin, is a youthful vibrant city, and is also a natural base for exploring the breath-taking Canadian Rockies,” Mr Harrison added.

“Today’s announcement marks the start of another exciting chapter in the history of WestJet,” said Ed Sims, WestJet President and CEO. “As the only airline flying non-stop between Dublin and Calgary, Canada we are extremely proud to make this connection so that family, friends and business travellers alike can benefit from WestJet’s enhanced presence in Ireland. We look forward to welcoming our Irish guests on board our new WestJet Dreamliner in 2019.”

Mr Harrison said Dublin Airport would work closely with WestJet to promote the new route and to grow passenger numbers and trade and tourism links between the two cities. Already, about 21,000 people per year travel between Dublin and Calgary on indirect air services.

WestJet, which is Canada’s second largest airline, is headquartered in Calgary and operates about 725 daily flights to 105 destinations. Last year it carried more than 24 million passengers. Dublin was WestJet’s first ever transatlantic destination, as the airline launched its Dublin-St John’s Newfoundland service in the summer of 2014.

The new Dublin-Calgary route will operate from Dublin three times per week on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. Flights will depart at 13:45 and arrive in Calgary at 15:05. The return flights will depart Calgary on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday at 20:45 and arrive in Dublin at 11:38 the following day.

All flights will operate on WestJet’s new 787-9 aircraft, featuring 320 seats in a three-class configuration, including Business, Premium Economy, and Economy sections.

Calgary will be one of six Canadian destinations served directly from Dublin Airport next summer; joining Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, St John’s and Hamilton, Ontario. Dublin Airport will also have direct services to 18 destinations in the United States next year as part of its largest ever transatlantic offering.

Calgary, which hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988, is Canada’s fourth largest city. It was recently named the fourth “most liveable” city in the world by The Economist magazine and has a thriving restaurant and entertainment scene. Calgary is located just one hour’s drive from Banff National Park in the Rockies and is also home to the Calgary Stampede, which is the largest outdoor event in the world attracting more than one million people to the city every summer.

Ireland and Canada have strong and enduring cultural and business links. About 14% of Canada’s population is of Irish descent and more than 70 Canadian firms have businesses in Ireland, employing a total of more than 13,000 people.

Almost 24.2 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first nine months of the year, a 6% increase when compared to the same period last year. Dublin Airport has welcomed an extra 1.4 million passengers in the first nine months of the year.
