I disagree. The new livery is very unique and looks great unlike the Southwest 2.1 livery.

I think it perfectly sums up the new Sun Country! A logo and an Airline that doesn't know what t wants to be! Part of it screams LCC and part of it says Legacy. IMHO

Terrible. Then again, given their foray into the ULCC business, we may not have a chance to see the entire fleet painted before they go bust.

Again with that godawful giant font, too. Can the airline industry please give these poor planes a break?

Atrocious. This livery is just begging for attention without having earned it. The previous livery was attractive and balanced.

Looks like two liveries on one plane.

Sun Country doesn't look like Southwest from a distance anymore!

I know most don't seem to care for it but I actually like this livery. The only part I don't like is the tail design. I think it should have been a solid color behind the S. Too much going on in the tail. Plus, it's a new era for the airline- get rid of everything in the past including the tail design!

Looks like part of the fuselage is missing.

I think it looks pretty decent. A step down from their old livery with the fancy light blue compass on the fuselage. But I think it will work, I like the tail staying the same but think they could have added more to the fuselage.

What aircraft is this? When is it being delivered?

N830SY sometime next month, followed by N831SY next month too

Count your blessings folks..... they could've just taken an all-White plane, written "Sun Country" on it, and called it a day. To no one's surprise.

If anything, this'll make them stick out. I can't tell you how many times I saw a non-AvGeek confused them with WN.
Anecdotal, but I'm guessing it happened more than its fair share.

In the ULCC category, you have Spirit, Allegiant, Frontier and Southwest (some opinions are that SWA has grown out of that category).

Southwest was never a ULCC. We didn't have ULCCs in the United States until Skybus in 2007, then Spirit took the model and ran with it.

To each their own, but Southwest Airlines has the highest brand recognition of all US airlines amongst Americans- and even has brand recognition overseas in parts of the world they’ve never flown to. That says a lot about building a strong brand and livery that stands out and is easily recognizable. As for this livery, I think it’s decent and better than an all white fuselage with a logo on the tail. But I believe they could have done a much better job *standing out* to build their brand with an emphasis on the symbol of a SUN, considering their name is SUN COUNTRY. Just my opinion.

Hey guys,
I dislike the new livery and agree with posters above that it looks like two liveries rolled into one!
I liked the old livery with the larger white titles.
The new livery reminds me of easyJet and TNT...

In a world of pretty much everyone flying white planes at least there is some color on this.

I haven't seen the new livery in real life. But it looks like a huge step back compared to the former livery.

    Just cheap and awful.

At the end of the day it does not matter what colors are on the plane. BUT it still says SUN COUNTRY. Just think of all the airlines know longer flying...Braniff, North Central, Southern, Western...etc etc

It seems like the new paint job makes the plane look longer.
