Interesting. A few ideas come to mind. Obviously cost cutting in regards to colors. Special livery or base/primer before colors are painted on.

I think going Star would actually be very beneficial to EY.

Given how much EY have shrunk, I doubt they’re much of a threat to UA. And *A membership may stop them from merging with Emirates...

painting it in all white would make it easier for an immediate resale...

4 windows after the "gap" on the -9, 8 windows on the -10.

I know Etihad wasn't doing well financially, but you'd think they would be able to afford color ink for their printer

Internal source: Confirmed it is the new F1 livery. The whole aircraft is in a monochrome F1 livery.

Phew!
I have been worried that as a cost-cutting measure, Etihad would 'simplify' it's outstanding livery and that's what I feared had happened when I read this thread's title...., you know, a white fuselage with billboard titles and the same tail or something. I hope that Etihad does NOT change its livery as it is my current favourite but....
A monochrome Etihad livery for F1 sounds cool!

It doesn't look so much pixelated, rather it looks over-sharpened (maybe from digital zoom or cropping). The same effect is visible around the wing/fuselage, which is an area that wouldn't need to be photoshopped.

If it's a 'shop, the person has made a lot of effort to put in structural parts of the tail itself in addition to the pattern being completely different to the standard EY tail.

I actually don’t mind the idea of a monochrome livery.

Just thinking who else would look good with a one off monochrome. BA, HA, HM and TG spring to mind.
I’m ruling out NZ...

Etihad had that stunning F1 livery on one of their A346s, hopefully this will be a match to that beautiful bird.

lmao. I shot this hand holding a Nikon 300 2.8 at a red light. Twitter doesn't do the best job saving the quality of photos plus some motion blur. Nonetheless I'll have a full shot of this frame soon.

I wish I was that good at shopping photos. No digital zoom needed with a 300mm. I cropped it a tiny bit and resized it to maybe 2000px wide? I don't remember. I wasn't trying to take the sharpest photo from out of my car window hand holding a 300mm. The "pixelation" is probably a combination of motion blur, Twitter, and resizing. Thanks for linking my Twitter source and debunking the "shop" rumors.

This frame should be out of the paint hangar any day now.

Hopefuly as good as the previous one on the A346.

Feeling lukewarm about this. I'd be curious to see a clearer shot of it. I feel like part of the blame should go to new F1 logo which is also far less compelling than its predecessor.

The black, white and grey illusion on the tail is incredible but everything else is a bit of a let down.

Don't really like it. Their usual livery is one of the most beautiful in the world though!

New F1 logo is so poor that not even this lady can get a decent livery due to it!

Makes her look quite sporty!! I love it!

In proper light I believe it will be quite impressive.

Is it just me or does it have kind of a Lauda Air vibe to it?

The A346 in the F1 livery was stunning.... the 789 looks awful!!!
