The new tail design is called ‘spotlight,’ and the name of the plane is ‘Shantay Blue Stay.’

Making the Tail brighter and more dare I say "Caribbean" in the hues of Blue , is an excellent idea. It sort of seems refreshing both in the scheme is now 20 years old, and its just refreshing by color
I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list!

Farmd90, I was tracking on flightaware, and I saw 517 and 592 at LCQ, and 605 (Red Sox Paint) at SAL. Are any of those 3 in for a refresh? Must be Phase 2. When 605 (Sox) had the old 150 config., it had a Red Seat in 21E. Will it be getting a red seat, and if so, could you please show me what it looks like?

Wonder if Row 21, Seat E will have a customized "Red" seat like it does now for Ted Williams.

The Phase 2 32M has quickly become my favorite aircraft to work. Even though the aft galley is less than ideal, having carts in the aisle makes it bearable. Being able to individual reset a broken television, overwater WiFi, an eye catching color scheme, lots of places to charge devices....it’s just a very pleasant experience.

The reviews from the customers are refreshing to hear.

Can’t wait to get more of these in the sky!

Yes, it is here in SAL for Phase 2. Basically, all A320s coming to SAL will be getting phase 2 for now unless it was an unscheduled "drop in" for another issue like N793 that is here at moment for a couple of days.

Initially, I do not believe N605 will be getting the red seat due to the complexity of having just 1 seat out of the many thousands being installed fleetwide having a different color. I haven't checked the LOPA but the red seat covers will probably be installed at a later date. I did not see any red seats when inspecting and of the seat ship sets and don't see any on the hangar floor.

I believe the “rumor” is that something special is planned for this plane once it did get the modification and I hope that they decided to keep the red seat or do something special on the forward entry galley wall as you walk in where they currently place the planes name. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Maybe our friends down in SAL can try and sneak some pics of the mod as it goes on.

I was on N568JB on Sunday from MCO-LAX and it was great to have the 321 product on the 320! One thing I think I noticed was that there was no longer a single chime when the landing gear was raised. Did they finally get rid of that chime?

FWIW, I’m aboard N607JB (DCA-BOS) sitting at the gate. Aircraft is in old 150 seat configuration. Seatmap showed new config, and sure enough there are four flight attendants aboard, and during boarding the crew and gate agents had to figure out reseating several pax with row 26 and 27 assignments. Captain just explained we’re delayed because they’re waiting on new performance data because “someone thought this was an airplane with more seats.” Teething issues in the computer system involving the new/old configs?

It’s likely that it was a late swap. The close out paperwork might have reflected the 162 seat config and thus the data placed into the acars was likely off and presented them an error code.

How long does it take to refurbish an A320! It seems like they’re really trying to get them done as soon as possible.

The modifications are taking anywhere from a month to a month and a half but most seem to be closer to a month and a half.

Thanks for the info. That’s quite a lot of time. But then again, it’s a massive refurbishment. It seems like they are refurbishing 4 aircraft at a time.

Very happy they retained the pantry. I was wondering if it would still be there with the removal of the 2L/2R doors on the A321neo.

The pantry is actually an *addition* on this aircraft. The current 200-seat A321s don't have it, only the 159-seat Mint aircraft. This is the first pantry on an all-Core A321.

The aft galley is the same as on the current 321s. Only difference is that one LAV was moved to the mid cabin position. There’s still 2 galley’s in the back facing each other with the space flex LAVs

Ahhh I see. I would assume so. I didn’t take the time to look back there as maintenance was on board going over some things in the back. I would assume it would look the same.

By not having wasted space in L2/R2.

Surprised they don't have the curved bins like on DL's new A321s. Is that an option? I believe it looks a lot more modern.

I think all of the planes will get modified overhead bins. Honestly and I don’t mean this in a rude way it’s hard to keep up.

We have the old 320s
We have the redone version 1 320s
We have the redone version 2 320s with the avant- system
We have the classic 321 with mint config which has a market place/exit doors. (old live tv)
We have the classic 321 core no market place/exit doors (old live tv)
Now we have the 321neo core with market place over wing exits avant tv and a different interior look to all the rest.

Soon all will also have the overhead bins redone

Oh and the 190, but we don’t care about those.

From two types of planes a few years ago to all this.
At some point we will get back to a standard config but right now we are all over the place.

Just wait for the 321lr trans Atlantic configuration

JetBlue is getting larger overhead bins that started with phase 1 refits https://thepointsguy.com/news/jetblue-u ... 0-restyle/

But not the curved ones he is talking about. These are the larger non-curved overhead bins https://www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-r ... -bins.html I believe he was talking about the A321 bins that fold down as seen here https://thepointsguy.com/2016/04/delta- ... head-bins/

At least that’s my understanding.

I’m almost sure we got an email talking about a new
overheard bin/sky type interior that was to be added in like 2020

Wait I found it.

Correct...but the airspace cabin isn’t just overhead bins. It’s a whole new interior that hasn’t yet debuted. But the new bins that come as part of the airspace cabin already exist (airspace XL bins) and are shown in the AA article I linked. And all the refit planes, as well as the NEOs, should all have the larger overhead bins. I’m 99% sure there is not a new overhead bin coming to jetblue different than the larger ones already being installed in the cabin restyles.

In the article you just linked, look at the overhead bins. They are the same as the AA ones in the article I linked. The “curved” ones that drop down are the ones the other guy was talking about. I haven’t seen jetblue say they have the airspace XL bins, but they did say they are getting larger bins installed in the cabin refits and on the NEOs. So I have to assume it’s the same as the ones AA is getting on their NEOs.

Is 517 now getting the MOD at LCQ?

If you are able, please take some pictures of the MOD of 605 (SOX). And also, I would also like to see some of the other forward entry galleys, like when you walk in. I would appreciate to see what some of the tails are like on the forward entry galleys (Barcode, variants of tartan, blueberries, special liveries, etc.)

These improvements can’t come soon enough. I just flew back to FLL from Aruba in the exit row all 3 TVs had issues, and u had to hold the headphones in to get any sound at all. If you smacked the monitor it would work for a minute or two tops. It was also missing an overhead bin door, the crew had it taped off. I was like man is this thing is beat up and the crew def agreed the plane’s interior was falling apart literally
717, 727, 731, 732, 733, 734, 735, 73G, 738, 752, 753, 762, 763, 777, DC9, MD80, DC10, L1011, ERJ, CRJ, ATR, DH8, A300,

There’s nothing special when you walk in. All there is now is a picture of the tail and the planes name on a sticker. When I work one I can take a pic if I remember. Also I would love to see pics of 605 as it gets done and if the red seat stays.

There are definitely a number of different physical configurations, but the product itself is pretty consistent.
(1) Classic Core seat
(1a) All un-refurbished A320s
(1b) All E190s

(2) Old Core seat with LiveTV
(2a) Refurbished V1 A320s
(2b) 200 seat A321s without Marketplace
(2c) 159 seat A321s with Mint/Marketplace

(3) New Core seat with Avant
(3a) 200 seat A3N1 with Marketplace
(3b) Refurbished V2 A320s

I’m not sure how that is consistent other than a TV Pepsi and snacks.

I’m just saying at some point it will be more even (maybe) but you definitely don’t know what you are getting right now.

There's only three different seat types, which will become two once the A220s come online and the A320s complete refurbishment. The flying public doesn't care -- or need to care -- about 159 seats versus 200 seats, NEO versus CEO.
