779 (Bluericua) arrived in SAL last evening. Wow, a lot of the 7’s are getting Phase 2 now.

I just had a trip on Bluerucua and it was holding up good on the inside. A few broken TVs but still holding up good. The newest plane currently on the list to go in is tail 827 I believe.

A lot of the 700 series planes are due for C6 HMVs which already puts them on the ground for a month and completely guts them out....might as well do the interior mod while it's down for that long.

Just flew home today on N594JB (B6 2028) and it was my first experience with the Phase 2. I will say the overall product is amazing and I was very impressed. The streaming worked pretty well with few slight pauses in the movie I watched. The wifi was problematic though. Flight stayed over land throughout the duration and we had lots of signal loss. When it was working the speeds were 25mbps download and 0.5mbps upload.

Seats I found to be a bit more comfortable on the phase 2 than they are on the phase 1. On my flight down I had N637JB and wow there is such a huge difference in the overall experience provided.

I wonder when we will start to see a dedicated seat map show up on the booking? Currently all 320 routes show up as 25 row 150 seat and you can't tell your flight is a refurbished plane until the day before and you see the registration.

Are any of the older 5xx tails on the list? 507JT needs it, no doubt. Hope it’s before all the 7’s and 8’s are done.

This is already happening, I saw the updated seat map for my BOS-PHX flight last month when I booked it in July. The only reason I can think of that you didn’t, is you got super lucky and the plane was swapped -/+ 24hrs before departure.

I know this isn't fully related, but does anyone have a schedule for when the classic tails will be repainted/retired? They have already retired a few over the past year.

Currently left:

Bubbles N618JB
Stripes N640JB
Harlequin N645JB
Dots N652JB

window pane, and mosaic were retired already

Please note that tails 519 and 536 were not or currently being modified for the refit nor on the refit list.
The only tail I wasn’t able to verify was 584 it ferried FLL-LCQ 08/28. I cant go back that far to see if it was on the list to get refitted or not so someone on the ground will have to confirm.
The refurbish list hasn’t been updated for a few weeks so I have to check all 320s manually to see what’s on the list or in modification.

Apologies in advance as I'm sure this question has been asked and answered already: Is Phase 2 only done on aircraft that have already received Phase 1 or do some aircraft skip Phase 1 completely?

Phase 1 was only a way to really get the refit programs started as it had already been delayed once. No planes that have been given the P1 cabin will go back and get the P2 cabin. The planes that are going in now are only get the P2 cabin. I hope once the 320s are done jetblue will decide to re-do the 321 CEOs to the P2 cabin as the oldest 321 will be approaching 10yrs old shortly after the programs is due to wrap up in 2021

Hopefully B6 will get its 20 P1 planes redone for the P2 cabin, especially since they are putting in the effort to ditch the armrest remote. Same would go with their A321s as well.

Oh, I just realized. It is 606. That plane flew to SAL 09/09, so it have must’ve been that.

There are now A LOT of articles about the NEO now. On the NEO/Ph 2 regular core seats, I am guessing that blue part (below headrest) must be blue leather, just verifying.

It's all synthetic leather (meaning, the blue isn't ribbon or fabric).

A quick question: The 7xxJB and 8xxJB planes were delivered with the "refreshed" Airbus interior, including (I think) the newer overhead bins, LED lighting, etc.) which differed from the older 5- and 6-series. Are the overhead bins, etc. still being replaced as part of the phase 2 retrofit?

Yes they are. With the new galley up front the first few OHBs aren’t to the standard length and they are cut in different places, and also with the aft LAVs moving to the galley they are adding bins there. Which due to the curve of the fuselage they can’t take a 22in roller wheels in towards the very aft part of the bin (closest to the tail) but can take it towards the front half of the bin.

There’s a list from a week ago a few comments up, but 606 and as of tonight 779 have since been completed

Wow, one of the classic tails is in for Phase 2 - Harlequin! Do you know if it's scheduled for a repaint soon? The other classic tails are 652, 640, and 618. Are any of those scheduled for Ph. 2 or a Repaint?

It's nice to see a classic tail go in! :)

Negative, N645JB is only down here for a short check, should be out of here this week. No interior modification scheduled on this aircraft this visit to us in SAL. This aircraft is on a line of shorter checks that does not have the interior modification, and will be followed by N662JB and N646JB (which was the first modified aircraft, Phase 1, done in GSO). The other 5 lines are all phase 2 lines though.

So, how come there used to be a few Cabin Mod lines in LCQ, and then only one, and then none? A big majority of these birds are getting Ph. 2 at SAL. Do you know if any of the classic tails will get the MOD

before they get painted over?

Thanks! :)

Contracts come to an end and change. B6 and Aeroman (MRO Holdings) has signed a very big contract for many years to come so you will see most/all HMV activity shift to SAL or an MRO Holdings MRO location going forward. We operate out of a tremendous hangar here in SAL (I think it fits 15 A320s in total) so all of our lines are in one hangar, and the supply chain side of the house is much more robust including a separate receiving warehouse being constructed behind the current hangar to support the modification, and an off-airport warehouse for additional storage.

As far as classic tails go, I honestly have no idea I lost track of what tail # has what tail design a loooooooooooong time ago LOL!! Considering the number of mod lines being run in parallel, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a classic tail get Phase 2 before it gets repainted. Do you have specific tail #'s? I'll try to look them up on the schedule if I have time.
