It looks like according to FlightAware, Jetblue's newest A320, 834JB, flew to San Salvador as B66481 on January 29. Was this for a different reason than Phase 2?
Pilot: "Request push, which way should we face?" JFK Ground: "You better face the front, sir, or you'll scare the pax!"

Yes it was for another reason. What that is I don’t know.

Probably an HMV/maintenance check. 834 was not on the refresh list.

I have a B6 A320 flight MCO-BOS Thursday Feb. 20, 2020, flight 952. We chose this flight to have an updated plane. But recently is says 25 rows on the map. I understand that sometimes they need to be swapped out, but why do they swap quite a bit? What if someone booked row 26? I want to try Phase 2 badly, so that's bad luck. Hope I get it.

Taking a quick look at the bid packet, it seems 952 on 2/20 is indeed a classic 320. The beginning and end of the month it's operated by a 32M (restyled), however there's a few days in the middle where it's a regular 320.

Wish I had better news! We're approaching 50% completion, so they'll be restyled more often than not very soon. I personally can't wait until they are all finished.

Cheers!

We actually switched our flight to 2252, MCO-BOS on Thu. 2/20 in Row 26, so hopefully that will be my first Phase 2 flight! :)

So that flight (above) has 27 rows, but the flight which looks like the one from BOS-MCO (#51) which looks like comes down to MCO before 2252 back up. May u please make sure if 2252 on Thu. 2/20/20 is a 32M?

Thanks again!

2252 on 2/20 is an a320M. Something to consider is jetblue routes airplanes all over the place, just because a flight comes from Boston doesn’t mean it turns back to boston, it could turn to a dozen plus other destinations.

Flew 665 FLL-SLC On Wednesday night cant give my opinion on the video displays cause 75 percent of the screens didn’t work. They tried that nonsense reset 3 times and everyone was quite frustrated.

Thank You. Even though we know it's a 32M, I'm just making sure we can't tell if it's Phase 1 or 2, or can we? JetBlue has a consistency of mostly Phase 1 or mostly Phase 2 for at least some flights.

Thanks again!

How many extra seats does the refurbished A320 have and how is B6 selling those? Are they assigning the higher-density refurbished planes to particular flights and selling the whole cabin, and potentially bumping pax in the case of a last-minute aircraft swap? Or are they just selling 150 seats on every A320 flight and then giving the extra seats to standby when they assign a refurbished aircraft?

Theres 12 extra seats for a total of 162 and they are selling all the seats. It looks like if a route that isn’t always a modified plane it sells at 150 and if it gets swapped to a modified plane a few days before they release those seats to be sold. Jetblue doesn’t over sell flights even in this situation.

We actually switched our flight to 2252, MCO-BOS on Thu. 2/20 in Row 26, so hopefully that will be my first Phase 2 flight! :)

A lot can happen between now and the 20th, but as of this moment, 2252 on 2/20 is scheduled for Tail 552 (Blue Jay) which is indeed a Phase 2 restyle from July.

Hope it sticks!

Cheers!

618 (Classic Tail Bubbles) replaced 569 on the same Mod Line
526 replaced 648 (JB Vaca's) on the same Mod Line

My flight 2252 got delayed from 3:08 to 4:45 and it is now tail 636. 636 arrives MCO at 4:11 from HPN. Why would they switch planes and then delay the flights?

Usually the other way around, Probably your original plane has gone tech or some other issue (like it was needed for another flight coverage), so they figure out the next best option and pull that one to your flight. It's happened to me before. In fact once they did that from MCO to BOS and I got delayed 9 hours as it needed to be a 321 and the only one available had to go MCO-RIC-MCO before we left for BOS, I had the unfortunate experience of watching it leave for RIC from the next gate over..
That feeling when you sit at the end of a runway, brakes are released and the raw power takes over. Now that is a thing of beauty and it never gets old.

Does anyone miss the classic 320 design? Do people like having to crawl over FAs in the jumpseat to get to the bathrooms on the reconfigured ones?

N554JB has departed, en route to MCO.

I am excited to be working two of the oldest aircraft getting this mod...N507JT and N508JL which are 20 years old! N507JT should be released late next week if all goes well.

Christine needs it. Additionally, I hope they commit to some cockpit mods, like 3 prong power outlets on her.

Yes she does!! It will be interesting to see if she gets it. With current mods in the forward main originally galley they are just changing the latches from red to Orange. Well Christine has a completely different galley so it would be interesting to see if they keep it or swap out the whole thing.

I also just had a friend working on her and the cabin temp wasn’t working and according to him the heat was blowing out 112!!

On my recent flight on 636, the FA said something like that Christine is sort of like a historic bird, so she thinks that's why they are not renovating her just yet. But maybe it would be time in my opinion. I'm sure there would be some mixed emotions if Christine got the MOD. That FA told me she also flown 505 recently and that was not in good shape and it surprises me that they are/were working on quite a few of the 7/8 tails and that makes me think they are combining the MOD's with maintenance checks.

I didn't notice anything about the JetBlue experience on the AVANT screen, where it would tell you about MINT, etc, and I didn't see that many movies than I thought.

Yes as far as I know, these mods always went along with maintenance so it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of the 7/8 tails are getting it already but makes sense if it goes with the Maître dance checks. As far as tail 503 goes or “Christine” as she’s known, we all want her to get the modification already.

So why is she known as "Christine"? Also, was she the first 320 JetBlue received after it was founded?

Among the flight attendants tail 503 is known as “Christine” based off the 1983 film/thriller also titled “Christine” which is about a haunted car that tries to kill its owners I believe. It’s a very twisted name to have for a plane lol. I don’t know if tail 503 has other names among other work groups, Christine is the only name I’ve heard. 503 was deliver to B6 in December of 1999!

Quick question:

When B6 finishes their Phase 2 mods on its remaining A320s, will they restyle their Phase 1 planes to Phase 2? It would make sense for them to do this because the 20 P1 A320s don't even have the Viasat Internet.

Considering the amount of money they are spending per mod, I doubt it.

I hope at minimum they decide to upgrade the WiFi on the phase 1 birds and 321CEOs to the new WiFi.

Looks like also tail 507 is heading back to Orlando as 6420 today. This is now the oldest 320 to get the mod so far.

On a somewhat related topic, will the 4 used A321s that JetBlue is taking over from the now defunct Thomas Cook get refurbished by AeroMan, or will that be done stateside somewhere?
