I’m not sure how that is consistent other than a TV Pepsi and snacks.

I’m just saying at some point it will be more even (maybe) but you definitely don’t know what you are getting right now.

There's only three different seat types, which will become two once the A220s come online and the A320s complete refurbishment. The flying public doesn't care -- or need to care -- about 159 seats versus 200 seats, NEO versus CEO.

Hence I said right now.

Also the 220s will be SLOWLY coming for the next few years so that’s even more.
It also won’t be two seat types because you have the redone 320 version 1 and the redone 320 version 2 with different seats.

Having said the the new interiors are very nice.

And actually the do care when you were supposed to take the newly modified 320 down to FLL but it broke so you got the old 320 and left a bunch of people behind (not enough seats) but we did have an extra FA.

One day that will be fixed but I can assure you people know that they aren’t sure which version they are getting.

Well, I think it will be 5 types of seats.

You will have:
> Mint (current transcon product)
> Mint (transatlantic...I'm guessing there will be a new Mint for TATL)
> B/E Pinnacle (A321CEO and A320 Phase 1 Mod Aircraft core seats with LiveTV 4 system)
> B/E Meridian (A321NEO and A320 Phase 2 Mod Aircraft core seats with Avant)
> CandD Zodiac (E190 with LiveTV 2...being retired)
> Whatever they decide for the A220s, which will hopefully be similar to the Maridian seats but I don't know if they hold certification on the A220. The A220 will need the STC for the Avant system from what I know.

But that's just my opinion from someone who works the mod lines....

I wonder if any of the older 500 series 320s will not get refitted due to age/cycles/planned retirement? Anyone have any info on this? N510JB is the oldest refitted thus far and is 19 years old it appears.

Unfortunately, it does not. Farmd90 always posts updates regarding the MOD’s. Good thing you are not going to fly 507JT - I flew that last November 2018, and it wasn’t in best shape. At least it’s one of the 7xx’s. Good Luck! :D

Thanks! It’s too bad - I would have liked to try out the new interior, especially phase 2 with the new WiFi - the route I’m flying (BDA) is all over the ocean and on the flight here (on the NY jets plane!) there was WiFi for almost none of the flight.

It’ll be a sad (yet glorious) day if Christine (N503JB) gets restyled. The galleys look like a prototype that never should’ve made it off the line. Missing coffee pots. The half wall in the lav. Pasta pot filler. She’s just...odd.

However you never speak poorly about her. She will show up on your pairing in a heartbeat.

Cheers!

It seems as if most (if not all) of the phase 2 planes fly the BOS-MSP route...why MSP? Shouldn’t the phase 2 planes be used to fly routes like BOS-BDA and BOS- PUJ, routes that would otherwise have no WiFi because of the ocean? Just a little confusing to me.

No red seat at this time from what I was told a month ago from the project higher ups. None of the seat ship sets I worked had a red seat. It will be added at a later date. I think 605 is on the schedule for a repaint this year too, interested to see if there will be a design change/modernization like the JETS plane got.

As a reminder, photography is prohibited in the Aeroman hangars so sneak peeks is a no-no ;-)

I took this trip off but will be back there in SAL mid-August.

Tail 552JB was in LCQ when it was getting Phase 2 mods. So chances are it’s likely that tail 768JB is probably in LCQ for Phase 2 mods.

Is 768 in for a refresh? How come quite a few of the 7xx tails are going in for MOD’s? Shouldn’t they be one of the last? Could it be that they are combining the Cabin refreshes with the heavy checks? Hopefully, we should see some of the older 5xx tails. 507JT could definitely use it.

Thanks!

I can’t tell you for sure if 768 is getting the refresh, until the internal lists gets updates I won’t lnow for sure so just keep an eye on the list here. I do find it odd that a lot of the 7 series are getting refreshed before the older birds. But we were told when this started that the refits would match up with heavy checks. I do hope to see some of the oldest 320s get added to the list for refits soon.

768 is indeed slated to be retrofit, so it's likely that's why it's in LCQ.

The strategy is to combine the mod with heavy checks, so that's why the order of aircraft heading into mod is somewhat haphazard.

I don’t think “delayed” would be the correct word in this case. They are just retiming some of the refits. A delay makes it sound like they are stopping the refits because of the NEO. So maybe instead of 5 planes in at any one time it might go down to 2 or 3. They are just adjusting the flow.

Jetblue Announced in their earnings call that the restyling is delayed due to A321neo delivery delays. https://twitter.com/WandrMe/status/1153 ... 68480?s=20

I don’t think “delayed” would be the correct word in this case. They are just retiming some of the refits. A delay makes it sound like they are stopping the refits because of the NEO. So maybe instead of 5 planes in at any one time it might go down to 2 or 3. They are just adjusting the flow.

I can agree with that, however re-timing means that a few that were scheduled to get remodeled at one time will get it later, which in essence is a delay.

Thanks!

The weirdest thing about the 7-series tail numbers is that for some reason, their IFE system was unable to be changed from its original installation. Therefore, not only was it LiveTV2, it had the old remotes on the armrest that didn’t have the option to go through a TV guide. It was either flip channels, or go to XM radio. And then flip more channels hahaha.

Perhaps it was just time to get those birds refitted sooner than later. But also, as FARmd90 said, it may also have to do with timing on their heavy checks. Either way, I’m relieved they’re finally getting their much-needed updating!

So I flew on tail 605 today and it currently does not have the red seat as the old version did. That doesn’t mean they won’t add it later on as it might be a special order.
