I do prefer the shoulder width of an Airbus, and IIRC the lav is a little tight. But it's waaaay better than AA's new A319's or MAX'es. I think the "dread" of a 739 is overstated here on a.net.
I am really looking forward to trying out the A220 though - especially given the 2-seat side will now live on past the Mad Dog.

While the Boeing 717 is a quality aircraft and Delta paid pennies on the dollar for them (most Delta 717s are former AirTran aircraft on lease from Southwest Airlines), it does lack the range for many domestic missions.
The A220-100, on the other hand, offers over double the range of the Boeing 717 (1,415 miles vs. 3,100 miles) at highly efficient numbers. For Delta, this means the A220-100 can easily operate many missions the 717 cannot.
The A220-100 will also allow Delta to operate smaller narrow-body aircraft on “short and thin” routes"" (end of quote from the link)
Considering that Delta currently operates 91 Boeing 717 and that they plan to operate the A220 on a greater variety of missions than the 717, it seems reasonable to expect that Delta will eventually operate much more than 75 A220. Even the current 50 options seem rather conservative.
If the A220 meets promise, I fully expect more A220s for expansion and eventually 717 replacement. The 717 is a great plane except for engine maintenance and fuel burn (both to be expected from it's role, era, and hand me down architecture).
I also fully expect as many threads on 717 replacement as the NW/DL DC-9 retirement.

I have. It's tight with a terrible bathroom config. Definitely not an aircraft I go out of my way to fly.
The only significant difference between a DL 739 and AA MAX 8 is an IFE screen (DL 739 has one more inch of pitch in Y+). The difference between a DL 739 and AA A319 is even more negligible. Since you say you prefer the added width of the Airbus, you should prefer the AVOD A319s from AA over a DL 739.
Calling a DL 739 way better over virtually identical (or better in your words) products isn't a good sign for your objectivity.

IFE at every seat, widest seat with the most pitch, cabin mood lighting, a bathroom that is actually quite roomy and with a window! I mean, what seems like a very modest and economically sound purchase can wind up winning DL new corporate customers from the competition.

I swear I saw a picture of a DL A220 Lav with a window in it. I wish I could find that picture.

I think the first 4 frames will have entered the fleet when the inaugural happens in January. The first one (N101DU) has been undergoing test flights yesterday and today.

Are there anymore deliveries scheduled throughout 2019?

Also, I like Delta's commitment to providing seat back IFE even on short/medium haul aircraft while UA and AA seem to be moving towards only providing app-based streaming entertainment. Even though I usually download a few movies or tv shows to my phone before I fly, it's always nice to have different options or a backup built into the seat in case something happens to my device.
By the way, what's up with the 'C Series' placard at the door? Will it be removed at some point? Airbus undoubtedly spent a lot of money and effort re-branding the plane so it seems odd that they'd allow the C Series name to appear so prominently on such an important delivery.

Because not everyone buys a ticket based on product.....AA will still have a superior schedule between NYC and DFW as would UA to IAH...plus there are many die-hard AAdvantage and Mileage Plus members who rather deal with an OK product then completely switch... And if a lot of the traffic in these markets is skewed towards DFW or IAH point of sale, AA and UA will still have the advantage, etc.

Most likely. Just not sure how many.
