Sun Country Pilot Arrested in RSW

Sun Oct 28, 2018 2:59 am

A Sun Country Pilot was arrested at the RSW airport on Friday for having a loaded pistol in his carry on. Passengers were given hotels, meal vouchers and a $200 vouchers for future travel.

After what happened in Mexico last year I see Sun Country really jumped on this and are taking care of the situation.

This obviously means he carried it FROM MSP...probably through KCM.

Totally careless, and jerks like this make it harder for all airline employees. Morons like him will bring about the end of KCM.

Punish him and spare those who obey the rules.

I don't think a 54 year old pilot is stupid enough to bring a loaded firearm through security and expect to make it through. There has to be more to the story...

A number of pilots and flight attendants have carelessly left firearms in their bags and got caught.

The punishment for this carelessness is often visited upon the overwhelming majority who comply.

Well, you'd be wrong, as regardless of age or profession, plenty of people are "stupid enough", and yes- stupid includes forgetting they had a weapon in that bag, or "it was the wrong bag".
People do stupid daily.

Hotel rooms, meal vouchers, future travel vouchers.....this will add up to be a costly incident for Sun Country. I would expect that there will be a job opening for a pilot.

This thread is not intended for discussion on gun laws in the US (that can be discussed in Non Av) or the FFDO/FAM program. Users are also reminded not to discuss any information that might be considered security sensitive, as this is a public forum.

OK. Fair enough. But if the OP introduces a story about a crewmember carrying a loaded weapon onboard what else are we talking about?

Ridiculous censorship.
You get a topic like this what are you supposed to do, talk about applesauce instead? No where is this information security sensitive. If you don't know general info about Air Marshalls check google ATCSundevil. Search is your friend. Here your go - it's not a secret.

Good grief.
..everything works out in the end.

Perhaps this is more a case of this thread should get moved to the non-av forum?

Airliners.net saving the world from terrorists one deletion at a time!

Just google the program people and find out how and when pilots carry guns.

Great user relations yet again.

Their forum. Their rules. I laugh when people complain about “censorship” in a public forum.
