The first will include an addition of 3 gates to the International Terminal Pier along with a new domestic terminal for QF and completion planned for late 2024
The time frame for the second phase will be determined at a future date and is dependent on passenger growth and airline requirements

Qantas wouldn't have spent the money on domestic business and international lounge if only lasting a few years

I recall reading an outstanding trip report on this website from maybe 5 years ago when Skytrans operated this route. A search should bring it up, it's well worth reading if you are interested.

3 gates is probably all they need to add for the the moment, with 6 gates 50-55 now with bridges adding another 3 grows international by 50%. In the master plan they were planning on taking out gate 55 to start a satellite terminal dubbed T5 which was suppose to take the number of widebody gates to 14 but this was expected to be by around 2030 at the earliest. They may have also left an option where the QF domestic terminal will be built that they include 2 or 3 swing gates closest to the International pier so that may add some more potential capacity

Only thing i did notice was along those gates 50-55, there seems to be boxes on the outside. Could it be we finally get rid of those damn stairs down to aircraft? With a angled walkway?
“There will also be new airline lounges which have better views and are closer to boarding gates.”
“Our aim is to provide smoother movement of passengers from kerbside to flight gate. We’ll be looking at the latest biometrics technology to help create this seamless passenger experience.
“It’s also a great opportunity to fix some of the issues with the current international terminal layout including bringing the lounges and retail areas together for a better customer experience and doing away with the need for passengers to traverse multiple flights of stairs to reach their flight.”

Very interesting, thanks DeltaB717. The 737 pilot issue would appear to be resolved by NS2019. Where the 717s get redeployed will also be interesting.

Or they could start repainting them, going off the 717's out of PER the current paint on them looks just very tired and worn to say the least

Ultimately no, I believe the dates of that site are just estimates and are not the actual delivery dates set between the airline and Boeing.
Don't get me wrong, it is still a very good site with a ton of useful information.

Wonder if they have crunched the numbers and gone, not going to make as much as we thought?

Sydney as well. In saying that there's a few marketing campaigns going at the moment, namely NZ, EY and UA however not as prominent as VA, especially with that ugly font they use.

What are you trying to get at? I think its a good move, they have just released something more concrete on the airport expansion plans plus there has been quite a bit of focus on Perth Airport on being the hub for WA and with the launch of PER-LHR there has been more of a focus on visitors visiting regional areas of which the new logo represent
