Norwegian has obtained Swedish AOC

Norwegian reports that they have now also obtained a Swedish operating license (AOC). Today, the company's very first Swedish-registered aircraft landed at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm.

What benefits will this have for Norwegian ?

The plan is to transfer the majority of the Irish AOC (Norwegian Air International) over to the new Swedish AOC. The benefit is the Sweden is part of open skies and a lot easier for Norwegian to deal with than the Irish IAA has been.

With Swedish AOC they could start flights from ARN. If Uncle Putin allows more rights....

Why did they not do this in the begining?

It does not influence this. These is a common Scandinavian agreement with Russia, allowing only one Scandinavian airline these rights, which SAS uses,
