Boeing Y1 797 [nma]/808 [nsa] clean-sheet design is needed as proven by Lion Air 737 MAX crash

The evidence is almost conclusive. Boeing had no backbone, and they dragged their feet and kept alive a zombie airplane design, whose days were numbered even as the NG series were approaching end of production. The 737 airframe should have been kicked to the curb in the late 2000s. Because BA didn't dump the 1960s worthless design airplane, we have them to thank for the Lion Air crash.

Stop all 737s production AT ONCE ... and let these frames go to Victorville once it's time for their next C-Check, D-Check/Overhaul, etc!

Boeing pushed the design limits of the 737 too far in their attempt to get the 737 MAX certified and out the door. This is why 189 Lion Air passengers are no longer alive. If they had ditched the 737 design and built the 808, they (Boeing) would have gotten many kudos!

You don’t know shit until the investigation is complete.

Yes, exactly. They put heavy engines on an outlived design. The old airframe handled feather-weight (or popcorn-weight) engines just fine. But BA put overweight engines on an old design. In order to compensate they did funky tweaks that ultimately caused the Lion Air crash.

This thread will be locked on the premise that it has been started to provoke other users and incite trouble. Furthermore the investigation into the Lion Air crash has not been concluded so until such time while everyone can speculate of which there is already a 1600+ post thread on starting topics such as this serve no purpose other than to start a flamewar
