Winglets are a fix for an imperfect wing design. You can avoid them by designing the wing properly from the outset. It's the reason why the latest airliners like the 787 only feature swept-back wingtips that end in a narrow tip, and not 737/757/767/A320 style blended winglets. The CityJet CRJs are all operated for SAS, and are all in SAS markings. It would be weird if they start using those for Brussels Airlines.
