A friend who works at MSP said DY flight from OAK to CDG diverted to MSP. He thinks it was due to unruly pax, but I cannot find anything on it.
Am I missing something?

question... when flights are diverted for unruly pax, who pays for that? Possible fuel dump, landing fees, ground equipment, new fuel, etc..... the fees must be thousands, anyone know? Seems to be happening more and more. How do we detour pax from that?

The airline, but they can also choose to file a lawsuit on the passenger to the amount, like HA has done for an unruly passenger on HA50 or DY has in the past on one of their BKK flights that diverted to WAW (I forget if it was from OSL, ARN, or CPH).
Whether DY or HA have ever been compensated for said diversions I'm not so sure.
