Saw a thread about F9 starting BDL-DEN, but nothing about BWI, whose Facebook page just announced this route. Nothing too special, 4x weekly on an A320. I think a lot of people expected this sooner or later. They’re competing with UA, NK, and WN on this route.
They’ll probably operate out of Concourse D.

I wonder why they would go up against 3 other carriers who offer daily service? I would think they could find a better use for the aircraft.

I understand what they're doing; just trying to test the waters at a well-established LCC airport. I think F9 would have better luck on FLL-BWI versus MIA-BWI because of B6 pulling out of FLL-BWI. They certainly could benefit from markets in which they would be competing with fewer carriers, such as BWI-SAT/CVG/AUS.

I mentioned BWI-MIA as a possible expansion opportunity by F9 since FL served MIA nonstop from BWI prior to the WN-FL merger, since AA is currently the only airline to serve MIA nonstop from BWI, and since MIA isn't currently served by WN or NK.
I agree that F9 adding BWI-AUS nonstop service is another possible expansion opportunity, but NK recently announced plans to start service out of AUS starting on February 14, 2019.

As someone born and raised in Maryland, I remember F9 used to serve BWI in the past.
