1: is there a hidden but approved lie flat seat for Narrow Body aircraft? Not quite Polaris but in the spirit of Polaris?
2: Can a UA 77W do SIN (Singapore) or does she not have the range? Same for SFO/LAX to SYD?
Thanks zillions for anything!
1: the seats that Jetblue uses for their Mint service. i believe Aer Lingus uses the same seat.
2: SFO-SIN is 8,500 miles, and the 77W has a range of 7,370. So no. The only plane that can fly SFO-SIN is the 789 and A359/ULH
That said, SQ did run SQ2 SIN-SFO one time this summer, when HKG was shut down. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SIA ... /WSSS/KSFO
THANKS BOTH xxcr & GoSharks!
SO, xxcr, thanks! I can see why that would be a very practical decision. I still have questions and curiosities, regarding premium hard product seats. I don’t want to take this thread off topic however. That said: is the JetBlue Mint seat an “off-the-shelf” (but somewhat customized) seat? And if so, who else uses it? I was frankly very surprised to see UA’s Diamond seat is so widely used. Perhaps different colors etc, but for kicks I do check out Biz & First on many airlines because I have Bix & First hard product OCD. I get why: it’s almost perfect for a “no all-aisle access” J seat.
I’m going to start a thread just to learn about it.
GoSharks: So, the 789 & 77W seem to have a significant range gap, how did Singapore do it? Block seats? Additional fuel tanks? A nicer livery? (Joke)
Again, I don’t want to veer of course on this thread, but what is the primary factor that impacts range so much between the 789 & 77W? Aerodynamics (Eg: wing?), MTOW? Engine efficiency? All of the above?
