Leasing company won’t lease short term nor pay the enormous expense. Like I said the Max is awaiting permission from the FAA for the certification flights.

AA has long-term use for more A321 regardless of MAX problems.

They have NEOS on order, they actually deferred A321neos and Max’s, so no they don’t have a need.

Fleet plans change. If the lessor makes an "offer they can't refuse", they won't refuse it. Who do you propose will take those excess A321, if not the world's largest operator?

The WOW cabin layout is totally different and doesn’t even have the second galley.

There are two left in TUL, 3EA and 3FW, the rest have returned over the last 3 weeks or so. So far, no new frames have gone in for mods either. Maybe they are holding up conversions to cover for the MAX?

How different were the F9 319s from the LAA/LUS 319s? If the price and conditions were right I would not be shocked if AA picks up a few of the WOW 321s. Not saying it's going to happen but could under the right circumstance.

Not going to happen, WOW’s former A321s cabin layout is totally different, and like I’ve stated before they don’t even have the rear galley.
Why would AA lease planes when they deferred deliveries of A321neos and 737Maxs?
Use logic people.

The rumor mill over on FT says that Oasis-ification has been put on hold while they look at fixing the F seats. But no mention of removing any Y seats or enlarging (replacing) the lavs.
Detroit313 wrote:Why would they enlarge the lavs while their competitors Delta and United have the same exact lavs on their new 321 and 737 airplanes? Those lavs are the new industry standard. Delta and United have had them for years now. AA was the last to do it.

I wasn't intending to suggest that they should, but that seems to be what those folks over there talk about when they talk about 'fixing' the MAX/Oasis config.

There were actually 17 that TULE reworked

Incorrect. 14 OASIS Aircraft were reworked and TUL only did 4 of those.

Interesting that these six are all going to LCCs. That being said, it looks like from Seatguru that NK's 321s have a rear galley....

Ah, that "opinion piece" as I said referred to F only, and even at that it was very vague of what AA might do for the F hard product. Nothing about the lav sizes and more rows being shoved into Y. Me thinks that Parker might make some minor modifications to F (like putting a divider up between F and Y) and call it a day. If you think he's going to reverse ripping out the AVOD and add the rows back to Y, or not install them in Y, you're a lot more optimistic than I am.

Why would they put a wall between first and main while Delta and United have the same exact plastic divider that AA's Oasis and Max have?

I have friends at TULE they had 17 planes there

You need better friends, they are wrong.

I don't think they are wrong, but the post you replied to is misleading because TUL does lots of MX work on all sorts of fleet types. 17 planes in TUL is not out of the norm, but there is little chance that all 17 were there just for OASIS. He was not wrong with what he posted, but it was a bit misleading.
Based on info that's come out today.
1. MD80 retirement will not be postponed to help cover the schedule. They will still be retired this year.
2. OASIS mods are on hold for the summer schedule. They will be resumed in the fall.
3. 321-NEOs will not be used for transatlantic service anytime soon. AA does not believe it is capable of serving the Europe market effectively.
4. 787-9 were not acquired to fly short trips. This is leading to speculation about a return to TLV, or South Africa service.
