Can someone tell me what AA has accomplished on the ex-Frontier A319s at GYR ?
Also I'm wondering what gets accomplished at CLT on the A319s that seems to always take a month or more.
Thanks!

Thanks in advance!

The first one to be delivered to US Airways in early 2000’s we know those ones were very very long in the tooth returns to service with new galleys/closets/power/seats/PRAM(boarding music/announcement system) tomorrow. It’ll be flying the PHL-SEA-PHL route for a bit so if you fly on it/work it or it comes to your station post some pics! Dying to see if they did a typical cheap retro job or actually seriously overhauled those old birds!
It will have 20FC and 170YC.

This work was never billed as an overhaul, rather as the "OASIS" mod.
As for "typical cheap retro job", AA could not replace galleys, overhead bins, seats, PRAM, and add power at the seats, inexpensively. Additionally, considering the cost of the airframe out of service time for the mod coupled with the size of AAs A321 fleet, it will be a rather costly investment in these aircraft.

The Overhaul is actually a complete gutting of the A321s. They’ve redone everything inside of the plane (including the galleys). The only thing missing is IFE at every seat (which management is thinking of adding at some point).

Call me skeptical about that IFE comment... would love for to see a return of seatback IFE, but eh...

I actually work here and from what we’ve been told the new VP of marketing is trying to sell the idea to management. They’re looking at a system similar to what Delta has on their A220s. It’s plug-and-play and lightweight.

They haven't taken any AVOD out of existing seats. The newer planes just don't have it.

No, they haven’t started taking out ANY personal TVs on LAA A321s/737s. They are planning to but haven’t started the process. They’ve only retrofitted LUS A321s and the classic 738s to Oasis interiors.

At one point, all of the aircraft in the fleet with winglets were supposed to get red tips in order for ground crews to better see them. However, it was widely unpopular as it made the winglets look hideous, so they stopped the project and are in the process of repainting the remaining ones back to normal.

Dying to see the pics of the galley’s and cabin, anyone get shots of it yet, it’s flying PHL/SEA turns all month.

It hasn't left not a single seat has had one removed. Those are still years away if they happen at all. Can people wait until they actually remove one for making it the single biggest complaint on this board?
