Re: Airbus A350 Production/Delivery Thread - 2019

Thu Sep 12, 2019 9:23 pm

MSN 246 (HU) out on another test flight/CAF #AIB07GR (delivered to HX on 12/31/18)
MSN 285 (HU) maintenance engine run and taxi test (delivered to ALAFCO on 4/3/19)
MSN 323 (HU) active at the delivery centre (unpainted)
MSN 336 (VS#4) rolled out of the paint hangar
MSN 340 (BA#2) first CAF #AIB04FS
MSN 341 (SQ#40-long haul) sporting final reg (9V-SMW) - delivery this week
MSN 343 (JL#3) first CAF #AIB03GE
MSN 345 (ET#13) out on another test flight #AIB02NF
MSN 355 (HU?) initial engine run (unpainted)

I count 10 aircraft at the delivery centre right now. Could be a big September for Airbus and the A350

The two earlier Qatar frames ( 257/266 ) should be delivered by the end of this month but the list below ?
246 B-LGF A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
251 B-LGG A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
260 B-LGI A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
270 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
283 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
299 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
308 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
351 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
355 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
384 B- A350-941 Hong Kong Airlines
285 B- A350-941 Hainan Airlines
323 B- A350-941 Tianjin Airlines
338 B- A350-941 Beijing Capital Airlines
Also the Latam frames are taking a while ;
282 PR- A350-941 LATAM Airlines
313 PR-XT A350-941 LATAM Airlines
Whilst we know some have been contractually delivered but i"m sure Airbus would want these actually flown away can Airbus clear this backlog by the end of this year.......

This is a very old list you have.
246, 251 and 260 are now Hainan B-308G, B-308H and B-308J respectively. 251 already left TLS. Hainan delivery flight CHH3082 almost two weeks ago.It didn't go far; now stored at LDE looking for a new owner.
Also, Beijing Capital and Tianjin Airlines will not be taking any A350's. As far as I know they dropped those plans more than a year ago. If they DO go to China it will be Hainan

MSN 251 is at LDE for sotrage because HNA Group still running financial problems. It still belongs to HU but probably would park there for a while. Capital Airlines and Tianjin Airlines have been sold from HNA Group and all other branches like Guilin etc. will face the same fate

I wonder if LATAM, HNA Group and Airbus are actively seeking buyers for these airframe? Better sell off now as they are hot potatoes. Seems to be complete waste newly delivered airframe sitting not generating revenue at all. Same goes to Etihad. EY took delivery of three A350XWB. Are there anymore scheduled in production?

It is not unreasonable to assume that Etihad will operate those 5 A35K frames, of which the first couple are in temporary storage in Bordeaux. Why else were these aircraft painted in full EY colors?

At this time I would expect EY to flip the aircraft. EY was forced to keep to the terms. As the rudder is balanced painted, I guess it was easier just to accept the A35K in EY colors.

They might fly for EY, they might not. A sub-fleet of 5 is expensive. These will have no trouble finding a new home.

Is it just too early for the VS A350 to have its underbelly titles/logos applied? Or is not having them?

Here is a shot of one of the aircraft. There was a better shot shoveling the entire length of the aircraft and it being clear as day inside. I’ll see if I’m able to find it.

Also CAFs can take place without cabins, it’s been done many times. A good example is FZ and their MAX aircraft. They take delivery of the aircraft and then have them fitted with chains in AMM.

Happy to be corrected, thank you.

Wonder if DL will actually take the 35Js. Would be a great addition to their fleet, but maybe too big for them??

It's A35K (ICAO) or 351 (IATA)

...and while we're at it:
787-10 is B78X or 781.

Where do people get "A35J" and "78J" from?

Well yeah, but for clarity: I'm asking why AvGeeks have decided to randomly use that for airline designators, when no one in the industry does that?

The origin is what I'm wondering.
I think it was used on Boeing 737-700 as B73G

J & G are different letters...

G is the 7th letter of the alphabet. It wouldn't make much sense to use J when you are trying to represent 7.

They used J to represent 9 for the 737-900 but that's beside the point.

I like how they have the "crevette" on dark blue on the inside of the wiglets.

Seems like Virgin Atlantic's next two A35K (no. 3+4) have been delivered.

From skyliner-aviation.de:
Airbus A350-1041 MSN319 G-VPRD Virgin Atlantic delivery 30sep19 TLS-LDE ex F-WZNY
Airbus A350-1041 MSN336 G-VJAM Virgin Atlantic delivery 01oct19 TLS-LDE ex F-WZFM

Does anybody know why they have been flown to LDE (VIR835P and VIR845P)? Interim storage while waiting for UC-table modifications?

Brgds,
Ka.
Keep smiling - you might be on Radar!
