Seems like the most sensible option. A and B are fine and serve CVG well.

I'd wonder though if DL would really want to operate from two different concourses again.

This would result in a pretty large decrease in the number of International gates but it would eliminate the rescreening process for the majority of passengers.

A bit anticlimactic if true but completely understandable. I too feel they are actually pretty decent. So will DL still control all of B? To themselves? Seems like you could keep AA there long term and throw in UA. Keep everyone else in B? Really I feel like the concourses are like having shoes a size or two too large. They just need to keep adding new cities/flights to fill out what they have. With the current setup what is the upper range passenger capacity of the concourses yearly? I assume no huge expansion would be needed for quite some time.

Side note, kind of annoyed when doing WN and how crowded their two gates are when two flights are close together. Some of the gates in B generally feel too small sometimes but not sure what could be done about that.

I think in the mid-term that gates won't really be the main pain point for growth but rather the land side terminal check-in and baggage claim. Delta is still occupying half the check-in space...wonder if that could be consolidated more to provide additional counter space? I know AA's location at B is supposed to be temporary, but I agree with you that it would be nice to move UA and AA there permanently as Concourse A could be come very tight indeed if NK, B6 or SY ever eventually come to town let alone any expansion from WN, G4 and F9.

Nice to see in coming to Columbus! Might be able to get on it sometime. It seems a bit odd that they are using the same plane and calling it a different model.

Poor Dayton, the hits just keep coming. They’ll still have NYC access via AA to LGA but as we’ve discussed before the proximity to CVG (and to a lesser extent CMH and IND) seems to be just killing them.

Not good, but at least they'll still (probably) have LGA-DAY as long as there's a reason to funnel airplanes to/from MX.

Wasn't there some talk of UA focusing IAD on connections and EWR on O&D? Maybe this is the start of that? (DAY-IAD gets E75s every now and then, FWIW.)

At the risk of tooting my own horn, this is exactly what happened- DAY-IAD goes from 2 to 3 daily in April in conjunction with DAY-EWR being dropped.

After last week’s OAG thread showed several November WN CMH frequency increases, the consensus was that they were holiday peak increases only. This week we see even more increases for December:

WN CMH-DAL DEC 1.5>1.8[1.3]
WN CMH-DEN DEC 1.4>1.7[1.3]
WN CMH-FLL DEC 1.5>1.9[1.6]
WN CMH-OAK DEC 0.6>0.9[0.4]
WN CMH-RSW DEC 1.9>3[2]
WN CMH-TPA DEC 3>4[3]

Dummy bookings for CMH-RSW and DAL on random dates in early December show the additional flights so at least some of these are more than holiday peak increases. The big head scratcher is CMH-OAK, which is supposed to end completely but for some reason is getting more frequencies in December? Hmmm. Also:

DL CMH-DTW MAR 6>7[6] APR 6>7[6]
DL CMH-RDU FEB 0.8>0.6[0.8]

An upgauge would be nice rather than yet another RJ to DTW, but the network carriers seem to love frequency on these connection shuttles and the logic makes sense. Looks like maybe F9 wasn’t the only one struggling with RDU?

I don't think you can really read anything into how WN is changing their schedules when removing the MAX.
As we celebrate mediocrity, all the boys upstairs want to see, how much you'll pay for what you used to get for free.

I’m sure you’re correct in terms of long-term changes, it’s just pleasantly surprising to see frequency increases instead of cuts given the airframe shortage, even if temporary.

Haven't heard much news lately from CMH of late...anything possible out there (apart from the usual TATL scuttlebutt)?

Nothing exciting I’m aware of (unless the AA TWA retro scheme 738 coming to town today counts), but I did notice that disassembly of the old jetbridge at C50 has begun. Today they hoisted down the big red “50” sign on top, presumably to replace it when the new jetbridge is installed. Maybe deltarules has thoughts about how these replacements will impact gate usage?

Pretty slow on the news front lately...

Ask and you will receive, lol. Thankfully the aircraft in CMH without issue, other than being met by ARFF. Also, looks like the Dispatch caught wind of the unexpected arrival:

OK...so maybe I should have been a bit more specific. How about, is there any non-emergency, good news?

I flew into C50 Friday night on a DL 739. I think it's mostly used as an overflow gate for them, so they might be able to move up the way to 49 (which I guess they're sharing with AS?) and 48 (they had an LED screen which said "Thank you for flying Delta" there the other night) with out too much issue.

The Aircraft is still at CMH, parked at the de-ice pad. The ferried in a replacement this morning to continue the flight.

Looks like Frontier is quietly cutting all of its CVG-LGA flights effective 11/13.

Is this possibly just a winter downgrade? Can't imagine they would get rid of all together.

I'm pretty sure that CVG-LGA is seasonal now. But I am curious if is going to come back or if we'll possibly see CVG-EWR instead.

It was seasonal last year (as in it didn’t run last winter) as well. The slot was used for LGA-MCO, and it appears the same thing will happen this year, with LGA-CVG ending 11/13, and LGA-MCO resuming on 11/14.

They’ve done something similar in LGA with DEN/MIA for several years, running DEN-LGA during the summer and LGA-MIA during the winter.

It's looking like Jazz Aviation is taking over the Air Canada flights from Air Georgian at CVG at the end of October. The aircraft type stays a CRJ 100/200 though.

Could CVG see any of the Dashes? Would be cool to see something different. Does CMH see these? Seems like I remember seeing that somewhere at some point?

Also at some point does anyone think it possible YUL could be added? Growth has really exploded there. Especially with long range international destinations. I'm doubtful they would without sacrificing YYZ but I can dream.

CMH got Dashes until 2-3 years ago, at which point they bumped up to the CRJ. CVG had CRJs before CMH got them, so CMH had them more recently.
