Leave PDX at 3pm. Arrive AMS at 10am.
Leave AMS more like 11am, arrive pdx around 1pm

Klm has enough connecting flights where you don’t miss much, and it opens up more civilized connections from the rest of the continent.

Took the flight in April, we had to leave Dublin at 5:55am on a Sunday morning. Checked in at 4:30am, partied with dozens of newly found cousins & half siblings in the Malone family pub until then. I sure wish it left at 8-9am instead. After a short delay on the outbound to Dublin from PDX, we had only 45 minutes from wheels down, to wheels up from Delta to KLM City Hopper, a very smooth transit given the number of people making that early bank at AMS on a Sunday morning.

That said, I play it a lot looser than you do, and I haven't missed a single connection in those same 10 years.
A couple tight ones over time when the old passport check thing wasn't those electronic gates. But, just never had a real issue at AMS even a single time.

Yeah, the flight I missed was my boss booking me a 50 minute layover in FRA. (yeah, ouch!) Would have made it too but they closed the ongoing flight's gate 5 minutes early. Lesson: Lufthansa don't wait, even if you're coming in on a Lufthansa flight. :p

Thanks for the weekly update........It's great to see AS adding some frequencies on existing flights out of PDX........

So, AC to YYZ ends up only being 2.5 months...even with their MAX issues, that is super short. Maybe the 319 was too much plane. AS going more than 1X daily to MCO, and adding an additional frequency to PSP and SAN is interesting.

Last I was told for the PM bank of flights. That it is a mix of new flights and time adjustments to the point there is a very high chance of seven UPS aircraft being on the ground at the same time. The A300 that does the dfw-geg-pdx-ont loop will move to a 767 or 757 and the rest of the flights will be 767s and 757s.

Fried chicken and waffles at 7p wouldn't suck.

According to a recent posting on FlightGlobal.com..."Volaris plans more US flights after decade of transborder service".
"Chicago O'Hare, Phoenix, Portland (Oregon), San Antonio, San Jose (California) and Seattle are among the US cities where the airline plans to grow service..."

Indeed the statistics regarding Volaris flights at PDX speak as to the positive and sustained growth that Volaris has cultivated at Portland International Airport. Whether Volaris chooses to add more frequency to its' already successful PDX-GDL flight or fill the void left by the exit of AeroMexico and re-introduce PDX to Mexico City service...either way it would appear to be a win-win for the Port of Portland, Volaris and the passengers utilizing the service.

Agreed. TUL will never happen. Even BOI, RNO, and SJC are very long shots at best. Big reason we have any of these at PDX is some of the connections AS can offer over PDX to the pacific NW. Just service that is not easily duplicated with a major hub due to geography. SJC does have some local traffic at PDX on Southwest, and a bunch of us that are treated to a stop in California on our way to / from other places in the country.

I have not seen nor heard any information other than what an occasional DL PDX employee offers up. If the route were to come to fruition the likely candidate(s) would be Delta or fellow SkyTeam partner Air France. Came into C19 tonight on AA from DFW (On the Reno Air retro too!) and realized how much C is going to quiet down once WN gets shifted over to the E extension. It will be interesting to see how the temporary A reshuffle for QX occurs. Obviously, it appears that the demolition and rebuild of Concourse A is going forward, but I wonder if just demolishing it and moving AAG regional operations into C permanently was ever considered.

Numbers are in from the UK for Delta’s first-ever full month of daily PDX-LHR:

182/226=80.5% load factor

Not bad I guess considering all the European competition: 6x/week Icelandair PDX-KEF, 5x/week Condor PDX-FRA, as well as daily Delta PDX-AMS.

Checking occasionally, Delta One and Comfort are usually full, plus all fares are high, ~$3,500 r/t coach. Delta still shows an A332 on this route next year, unless that changes after May 2020.

It's also possible that the LHR-route may take (connecting) business from the other flights to Europe so we'll have to see if/how other routes are adversely affected. DL will certainly be monitoring any effects London has on their AMS flights.

If there's plenty of business for all routes to Europe, including adequate local traffic to AMS, KEF and FRA, then a new route to LON should do fine...

PDX June report must be delayed because it includes end of fiscal year totals. The “seasonal” (~11-week) PDX-PHL and PDX-BWI flights end over the next couple of weeks. Still no movement on making them year round. Southwest cut back BWI this summer from daily to weekend-only. No announcements regarding any of the unserved or underserved routes.

That's what we want to see actually. High fares, mostly full planes. That allows Delta to justify the service and expand it in the future.

$3500 r/t is steep, but, close in, only non-stop to London?
Probably worth saving $1500 to avoid a connection or longer route.

$10k for D1 is tough. I paid ~$5.2k for D1 PDX-NRT-TPE R/T earlier this week.
Double that is surely high, but GOOD for them if they are getting it! That's great news for PDX.
