Congrats to MCO on another add by a new airline to a new city. There was an article a while back that discussed the possibility of this route. Hopefully, the route grows to more than one weekly flight.

Was at airport today when this happened, in gate area. No mention of it. Our traveling companions who had not yet cleared security said that it was absolute madness and pandemonium out there.

Oh yes, very aware of the visit. We'll see what comes out of it. If we get another TATL, we most definitely deserve the merit to be a focus city.

It's not a charter. Looks like GOL cancelled their non-stop MCO-BSB 7M8 flight (has GOL grounded their 7M8 fleet?) and DL sent a rescue 763 down from ATL to help out. (DL handles GOL's operations in MCO)

thanks. looks like they did the same with MIA using a 333 sent in from DTW.

American's first A321neo is currently en route to MCO for airport familiarization training. Flight AA9709 scheduled to land at 1731.

AM still has yet to relocate to 4 with DL, VS, and WS. AF will be using 4. They probably have a TCO going down from DTW or ATL since each station has multiple TCO's.

I'm glad AF is doing limited time service to MCO, but I wonder if this signals any possibility for there to be regularly scheduled service...if AF is starting service it will most likely be daily on the 77W. DL would most likely use the 76W which seems a tad bit more realistic to start out.

With Lakeland (LAL) actively trying to court airlines to start commercial service with Moxy being one of them. Do you think Moxy would even consider Lakeland? I'm sure Lakeland would give them a great deal to start service. Its covers both the Tampa and Orlando areas. Its 45 minutes to Disney which is the same distance away from SFB it wouldn't have to compete directly with Allegiant. There is the possibility of the high speed rail from Orlando to Tampa stopping in Lakeland and it would only have to fill up A220s. The big question is how serious is LAL could they renovate their terminal in time (and being honest, I don't know much about the terminal, there are no pictures just that DirectAir used it when they were in business) Lots of companies like Publix and Geico in the area. Being that Moxy will likely be a low fare carrier it wouldn't have to worry about a fare premium.

I would think Moxy would get into SFB & PIE to serve the Orlando and Tampa areas respectively. Perhaps they wont do either. Perhaps theyll use SRQ instead of PIE or TPA. Maybe theyll use MLB instead of SFB or MCO. It'll be interesting to see who they use.

DL's flight to AMS seems to be doing very well LF wise. The average was 92% in October when we use Form 41 data. The lowest average LF for this route is in the mid-80's for 2018. If this is profitable for DL, I would assume CDG isn't far behind.

Pretty nasty storms around the area today.

Glad to see AM has finally moved over to Airside 4 with DL. Now all of DL and friends are consolidated in Airside 4. The place is getting very crowded though since basically half of the airport is operating out of airside 4.

Aeromexico seems to be going 3x weekly on MTY this summer. Nice little increase from 1x weekly last year.

Also looks like SCL is gone, I can't find nonstop bookings for it anywhere until schedules end.

I recently took my family from Poland on a holiday to Orlando and they love the airport! I think they were more excited about the airport as opposed to the activities we did. They much like Spirit as well, it was a full flight to Detroit, very fun and fast A321.

I think the next logical additions for MCO is going to be TAP to Lisbon a few times a week, Delta to CDG and service to Asia.

What makes the Asia scenario so difficult is that Delta offers great connections in Atlanta, Los Angeles and Detroit to Asia using both Delta and partners so that rules out a Delta nonstop and/or Korean. I think ANA is the best option, but even Miami doesn't have service to Tokyo yet. As long as MIA doesn't have a flight, neither will we.

TAP is another low cost option that can offer connecting service to the City Beautiful from Northern Africa and Europe. I classify Icelandair and Aer Lingus as regular low cost carriers, MCO needs more ultra low cost exposure, and TAP fits that portfolio well.

On the domestic front, I think we're pretty much covered. I wouldn't doubt that we get some more overlapping routes from Spirit and Frontier, I think they'll keep growing here two fold. Of course, I'd like to see JetBlue get into Detroit and Chicago in the Midwest at the very least. Both of those cities could support an extra A320 because in large markets like that it's very easy to pick up extra passengers. I don't think MSP is ready just yet and CLE will have both Spirit and Frontier running several flights each to MCO alone, not counting SFB. So basically cannibalizing that market since it's not as large as Detroit or Chicago to Orlando.

Perhaps we will see Midwest fly to MCO eventually? Canada Jetlines and Moxy have both expressed their interest in serving Sanford.

These are all very good assumptions. I'd like to see Delta grow more here. After all, people are connecting on GOL.

I didnt realize that TAP was full service. I'm hoping a new low cost option for Europe comes to MCO soon, I think we could support another.
