This aircraft arrived at the gate at 22.22 on the 12th, and re-entered service at 18.18 on the 15th. So let's say that it arrived at TechOps at midnight, and went back to the gate at 16.00 on the 15th, so a maximum of 64 hours to install the C + cabin. So far all the other frames have taken around 4 days to be modded, so I'm wondering if in fact it was done on 7001. If it was, then that's amazingly fast!

Apparently, DL just hasn't finalized the schedule yet, they also need to get it approved by AF and KLM first so that is also likely another delay.

I am noticing in the Delta App that they have a new 767-400 seat map and code (764 vs. 76D). While the actual seat map won’t load, the seat count/breakdown does.

The new configuration is 34 D1, 20 PS, 28C+ and 156 Y for a total of 238.

What is interesting is they don’t reference D1 as “Delta One Suite” like they do on the 350, refurbished 777 and 339 - it’s referred to generically as “Delta One”

In light of all the discussion that has gone on with regard to the suites “fitting” into the 767, do we take this to mean it didn’t get the suite product? Or, perhaps a “suite lite” type of product? Or, it just hasn’t been labeled correctly?

I took a screen shot, I just can’t get it to upload currently.

First, the new seat config. was revealed back in early January, so this is nothing new. I think you're only revealing that it's now on the App, correct?
If you look at the A350 config on the App, it also doesn't say "Delta One Suites". It only says "Delta One". I doubt that the B764s won't be getting the "Suites"!

An A359 operating DL275 just flew over my house in South Minneapolis on Sunday 3/24. Made a 2 hour stop at MSP while operating DTW-NRT. Was that a medical diversion? The Trent XWB has a deeper growl that the usual Trent 892 powered 777s that come over in the afternoon, so I ran to the window to look up at the sky. Don't get to hear that often here in MSP!

Have any of Delta's 747-400s been converted to freighters?

No. Most were scrapped, and the ones on lease will likely be scrap as well, none of them have NGS installed.

My understanding is that the actual door cannot be certified for the 767 due to ingress/egress issues. Delta has been aware of this for all along. I don't know the exact details of what they ended up with, but it won't have a door in the way that the others do.

my understanding is that this is only temporary from 9/1 to 10/25. will employ the 359 frame that is made available when SEA-NRT transfers to 339 effective 9/1. will rotate through the network via ATL-AMS-DTW-Asia-DTW-AMS-ATL.

Does DL have specific crews that fly a lot of the widebody domestic legs? I was on a DL 767-300 on EWR-ATL last year and I was talking to the flight leader and she said her next flight was the following day ATL-SLC on an A330-300 obviously the majority of widebody flights are INTL or TransCon (JFK-Cali) but how do they chose the crews to fly domestic legs on widebody aircraft?

Delta doesn't choose crews: staff bid on these routes, the same as every other DL flight.

All DL mainline flight attendants are qualified on all Delta mainline aircraft, so they can fly a 717 on one trip and an A333 on another trip the next day.

N705DN exited SIN on Thursday 28th March and has already arrived at NRT enroute to MSP. It's unknown whether it has the 4-class cabin installed yet. It was thought that N867DA might have also had it installed at SIN, but ultimately this was not the case.

7008 showing RTS tomorrow on ATL-NRT, which should complete the 7CD mods. Interestingly, DL.com shows "Upgrade in Seat Map at Payment" in the C+ column on that flight...hadn't seen that before.

According to "777Mech" in his reply #197 on the "Delta Aircraft Refurbishment Thread - 2019", #1804 will now exit CAN in the latter half of May. Remember that it entered mods on 3rd January this year!

The network planners must really earn their keep on the days when the whole network transitions like this.

Seasonal flights kick off. Upgauges. Swaps. It’s wild!

This is one of my favorite threads on a net. Love the contribution!!

Interesting news from Delta, especially regarding the new 764s.

I’ve been wrong plenty of times before, but I am still wondering if the 764/3 are getting a “suite lite” product. The wording in the release does everything to make you think it’s a suite without actually saying suite.

Airways Magazine just posted photos of the new 767-400 Delta One Seat. It is indeed a "suite lite" with no doors.

To be honest, looks not much better than the current D1 product- more private and good IFE, but not copying UA and going 1-1-1 suites (763) is a major misstep IMO. A330>new764 D1

Exactly! This new seat definitely looks better than the current D1 seat on the 767, especially the IFE. But, the fact that they sacrificed the true “Delta One Suite” (door included) to keep the 1-2-1 layout rather than a new 1-1-1 layout is a real disappointment, especially since they hyped up the new cabin as much as they did.

They didn’t hype anything. They didn’t call the 764 product d1 suites. It’s just as wide as the 1/1/1 on united without the added weird angles. It’s angled to accommodate 1/1/1 it’s really 1/.5/.5/1They worked out the work area to accommodate more seat width and larger foot wells. People complain before even seeing the product specs lol.

United 767 Polaris table is angled. That was one of the complaints on the trip review I saw recently. I experienced the same thing. Hey it’s a 767. I’m actually glad to see a little grey to break up that white.

Disappointing that they went with a warmed-over version of the exact same seat (and fewer of them). It upgrades the major privacy, storage, and IFE issues, but that won't do anything to the space, comfort, and still limited privacy and storage issues. It keeps their 767s firmly in the bottom tier of lie-flat J products, IMO. No wonder DL was being very coy about the details surrounding the 767 refits.

Interesting now to Google the web and see nothing but talk about suites coming the 767-400. All wrong.
