I don't see any MD-88 flights into or out of EWR past 8/26. Is that just how far out the flight schedule goes, or could that be the last trip?

Similar situation for BWI, another MD-88 heavy airport. It appears to switch to all 737-900s soon.

EWR is not an MD-88 heavy airport anymore -- there are somewhere between 1 and 3 a day (this weekend appears to be the peak for whatever reason -- one can do EWR-ATL-RSW round trip on an all-88 itinerary).

I assume it was due for paint and Delta wanted it in the regular livery.
Relatedly, I wonder if they're going to put an A321 or CS100 in the SkyTeam livery. I saw 3711 (N381DN, the 738 in SkyTeam colors) today and it could definitely use a fresh paint job.

Appears that DL is repainting SkyTeam planes into the regular livery when due for paint. I wonder if any ST planes will remain after all have cycled through paint.

Latest indication of lessening importance of SkyTeam on Virginia Ave.

I doubt whether any A319/320/321 or CS100 aircraft will ever be painted in the SkyTeam livery. All the current ST liveries are on aircraft which fly on International routes most of the time, where the exposure is better served rather than on Domestic routes.

Not true. There is one ST livery adorned on a 738, ship 3765 I believe.

*edit* actually 2, 3711 is the other one.

Actually N3765 has also been repainted into the regular DL livery. Any B738 can be flown to an International destination...recent International airports visited by these two (N3765 and N381DA) include: ANU, CTG, CUN, GDL, KIN, PUJ, PTY, STI and YYZ.

Do you happen to know if there are plans to remove the ETOPS certification from the remaining 21 -739er once the A321neos arrive.
Am I correct on the only remaining ETOPS certified 739er?

737-900er
180 seats
ETOPS
2016 - 5
2017 -16

752's
I know N659DL's skyteam livery was repainted into the standard company livery.

Question about the 757S that remain in ST livery.
Are there plans to remove all ST livery from those as well?

Wrong forum but I will ask here and in the widebody thread
N175DZ 763er on the engine the blue paint on the thrust reverser is still blue? I've searched and searched for a recent photo, but can't confirm and would appreciate info from someone in the know.
(my opinion I think it looks great, and I wish all Delta's ST's livery were painted like N175DZ so if anyone hates it flame away I can handle it lol)

A320s and eventually 321s also go international as well. SJD, HAV, PLS etc.

Two other websites showed 3078/N378DN had the reserved registration extended on 10 Jul 19 and still showed "on order". Another website showed 3082/N382DN was delivered on 6 Jul 19.

You're right about 3082; it's already in service.
3086 is the other one I had in mind along with 3078.

Re: Delta Aircraft Refurbishment Thread - 2019

Any reason why 2 MD88s to go out to SBD this past month are listed as temp storage? 9013 & 915?
Is it a mismatch of airframes versus engines that still have green time left?

"n515cr"... As the second B764 to be refurbished will be leaving for CAN in a month, perhaps that mod line can be added to the list.

There was rumor of an additional 7 frames getting an extension into late 2020 with another round of checks. Could this be an indication of that?
Did you know that a Boeing 717-200 is really a McDonnell Douglas MD95-30? ;-)

Any reason why 2 MD88s to go out to SBD this past month are listed as temp storage? 9013 & 915?
Is it a mismatch of airframes versus engines that still have green time left?

There were a couple of MD-90s stored that were supposed to RTS at the beginning of 2020, and with the decision to now scrap them, some 88s will be put through a check to cover for them.

What's with the switch to SBD? In the past, DL has used MZJ for storage & scrap - the 744s, PMNW 757s, original batch of 763As, and the D95s mostly went to MZJ. Assuming DL changed salvage companies (to one that was more cost effective?) and that is their location?

What happened to 3078? I know they deliver out of order - especially since they are coming from factories on two continents, but this aircraft seems far out of sequence.

No idea. That's what I was trying to ascertain in some of my earlier posts.

The last record I found was from mid July and it was in hangar 243 in XFW. I can only assume it failed some pre-delivery check and has been waiting on rework. There are no other details available.

Can the A330neo Delta One Suites fit in the A330-200/300 in a 1-2-1 configuration? I thought that, unlike the 777X vs 777, the A330neo fuselage was exactly the same as the A330ceo fuselage.

Hamburg built aircraft seem to lag BFM by quite a margin. I raised 3078 on another forum, and feed back was there is just a large amount of backlog at the factory. There are three out of four of the backlog built with engines. Presently stored on the ramp waiting first flight, see link below :

This backlog will also create delivery delays for the 321Neo.

Airbus has pushed back DL's first delivery until late July 2020.
