Well I'm no longer relying on 'flightradar' for accurate info...it appeared yesterday to be flying XSP-BME-CNS...and even showed it flew the XSP-BME sector...but now all that 'data' has disappeared...-NXE still in XSP..but flighradar24 has shown it has done 4 XSP-XSP flights in the last week

Don't blame FR24! On Tuesday when I was told NXE was coming home, QF6251 XSP-BME-CNS was showing on QF's website for Thursday. Yesterday morning that changed to today, and this morning it has changed again to tomorrow. So obviously QF has had to delay the flight twice, which would explain FR24 removing the positioning flights. The four XSP-XSP 'flights' (none of which is longer than 24 minutes, and two are <10 minutes) are unlikely to be flights per se, but more likely the aircraft being moved around at XSP while its transponder (I assume it's the transponder that FR24 picks up) is active.

In any case, the QF website is now showing QF6251 XSP-BME-CNS departing tomorrow, and QF6250 CNS-BME-XSP departing Sunday morning. I'm told QF6250 (when it happens) is YQX positioning for maintenance (and this flight has been showing consistently for the day after QF6251).

Ah makes sense, just seemed really odd to me that they would uninstall the wifi. But having said that it has taken them along time to re-install the wifi hasn't it?

Think VZD spent 7 days in SYD early July but no recent photos.
Agree that it has taken a long time.

Also despite I think 6 332s now having the antenna it doesn't seem to be active on many of them.

VXD now out of SYD, seemingly replaced by VXM

NXE made it back from Singapore/Seletar on Saturday, returning to service yesterday (Sunday). YQX ferried CNS-BME-XSP for maintenance yesterday. NXM is now back on the east coast so potential candidate for repaint in TSV... or maybe not!

XNH now sporting the 2016 livery after spending a few months in Seletar earlier this year.

Trying to work out when the last non-ER 744 will be out of the fleet and just the ERs are left.

OJU will be around until October from what I’m hearing. Then it will be all ERs remaining.

OJU will be around until October from what I’m hearing. Then it will be all ERs remaining.

As long as it's gone before the Antarctic flights. Just trying to log an ER.

AUG 8th BNE A332 -EBG back in service after its refit to 28J/243Y (incl WIFI hump and ipad Y/C).and looks like (possibly) -EBM is in for its reconfig from 28J/243Y to 27J/224Y, as per the past announcement that -EBM/N would be reconfigured to the same config as EBO/P/Q/R/S/V.

Just out of curiousity but given that all the 747-400's had 'Longreach' on them as a reference to QF's birthplace and the long range abilities of the aircraft, does anyone else think it'd be a nice tough to see the name on all of the Project Sunrise aircraft?

Any idea when the first 380 is due out of refurb? Looking forward to seeing the refresh of F and the new cafe seating. Wonder if it’s start or end of the month?

Is there any more reconfigurations happening for the 717s? Two class to one? Or reverse. They seem to fit the QFLink fleet niche perfectly and seem to be able to remain in the fleet a while longer so curious if QF like DL have plans to modernise them much at all?

As per Qantas Source, the latest reconfig for 717 is done in Jan 18 when -NXE is converted to a two-class bird.

Nothing more AFAIK.

Other than possibly recovering the seats on the one-class aircraft there really isn't much they need to do to them. The two-class aircraft are a very nice plane to fly. They won't be adding AVOD like Delta if that's what you were asking, but they are good for another decade "as is" (subject to heavy maintenance checks etc. which IMHO is what will finally determine when Delta, Hawaiian and Qantas retire the type).

Weren’t the domestic 330/ don’t later? And they kept their iPad mini? I don’t think QF have moved to BYO - they just don’t see value in refitting the fleet. I think it’s still a product differentiator from VA. But we won’t know until their next domestic aircraft. Hopefully a 797.

Seems like the first refurbished A380 is out of the workshop and making its first flight today as QF2 from London to Sydney via Singapore.

They definitely are, at least on the domestic runs. I was on -EBD last week between MEL and SYD and we definitely had the inflight wifi service along with QStreaming.
