In my experience it won't be the bed-count that drives CLE-UK travel it will be biotech R&D. The research world strongly emphasizes international collaboration these days; it's certified grant bait. CCF and its biotech spinoffs will develop a nexus with UK institutions generated by the hospital's presence. The travel volume won't be instant-on, but it will build significantly over time.
With two IAG airlines kicking CLE's tires, it increases the odds of selection. For a start, though, we'll only get one - BA or EI; no chance of both (unlike the Icelanders).
