It’s painted. Saw it at BFI when I drove by. I’m surprised it’s not on A.Net yet as it flew last week painted.

Not a chance it takes that long. They will gone much more quickly than they came in.

Not a chance. There will be many airlines incapable of taking new frames at that rate. Read what MOL at Ryanair has said.

There will be a long tail on getting all of these delivered.

Who will be the future operator of this 737? Is it a BBJ?

No BBJ. For GECAS, most likely a not taken up Jet Airways aircraft.

Not a chance they won't. I haven't read anything from MOL to that should make anyone believe that the "ramps won't be clear by the end of 2020".

I don’t think even Boeing are saying they will clear the backlog in 2020 and they still think the Max will be flying in October.

It will fly again but my money is on the grounding lasting around a year give or take.

Are they doing any type of short-term storage maintenance plan on these aircraft? Like cycling key components, systems, engine runs, etc?

Good question. I wonder if they've suspended production on the -10's for now?

Also, Did the -7's ever complete their flight test program before the grounding?
I see a few pics of WN -7's at Renton .....but who knows when those will be delivered.

Apologies if it has been answered somewhere before, but considering the possible knock on effect of the MAX grounding on other projects, is the MAX-10 development schedule still on time?

All quiet on the -10 front. I'm thinking that flight test program is on hold until Boeing clears
the ramps of undelivered Max's ..

Sorry, Woody, but I find that coming to this thread from time to time, I am looking for news on the topic, and not endless photos of parked 737 Maxs. I appreciated the effort, work , and results that you put in and achieve, but I would prefer "NEWS" of Boeing 737MAX Delivery/Production on this thread!

Is build still at rate 40? Are there plans to reduce? What are the plans if it is once more cleared for flight? How are the subcontractors doing - are they OK with the reduction, are they suffering, are they suing, are they "gearing down"?

There must come a time even for Boeing when the Company must look at the current situation, and reflect on reality. At present, there seems little acceptance of that from Boeing, as it keeps on pumping out more and more of them, it seems that it does little to turn down the supply chain volume

Maybe tomorrow I'll search Google, but if some kind soul can answer me before, since the grounding, where are all the "200+" MAXs stored? The employee car park is good for some, but not 200+

As an after thought, where do the employees park now? Or have they all been fired as unnecessary labour? Oooops, just remembered, that Boeing is looking to recruit hundreds of "engineers" to help get the 737 backlog out! Hope that it can offer a parking space at work to these new guys!

I would like to chime in and say thanks to WoodysAeroimag for providing us with steady high quality content of produced 737 MAX's. Please keep providing the endless photos!

There are plenty of post describing where the completed units are stored, scroll through the existing threads, or simply using your fav search engine should answer all of those questions.

Sorry, but I disagree sassicai. Seeing the photos shows delivery and production "NEWS". You don't like it, hide his posts - its that simple.

Thank you Woody for your posts.

Please continue with the pictures. They are so welcome and I really enjoy following the production that way. I am a visual person, and for me these pictures says more than 1000 words. I have little to contribute, but the pictures are large part of why I am subscribing to the production threads. Whenever I have a spare moment in a hectic work I really get a few minutes of stress free thinking.

As an FYI, I only look as this thread for the pictures. They are very much appreciated, and I’m sure that almost everyone bar 1 will be looking forward to seeing them as regular as they were once the MAX issue is sorted.

I agree....these shots are awesome.

Question... would it be safe to assume these birds taking their B-1 flights
have the software updates installed , even if the FAA hasn't signed off on the updates yet?

I posted this in the 737NG Production and Delivery Thread but I think it is worth mentioning in this one too:

Wild, 2 months of no passenger 737 deliveries.

Indeed. The last time monthly deliveries were in the low single digits was in 2008 as a result of the machinist strike: 3 in October, 1 in November before recovering to normal rates. Before that, you would have to go back to 1995, also the result of a machinist strike: 3 in November, 1 in December, before recovering to normal rates, then back to 1989, again a machinist strike: 4 in November. Low production rates were the norm during the 1970s and early 1980s, but even then there have only been a handful of months with 0 or 1 deliveries since deliveries began in December 1967:

  • August 2019 - 1
  • November 2008 - 1
  • December 1995 - 1
  • January 1984 - 1
  • January 1978 - 1
  • October 1977 - 1
  • February 1977 - 0
  • January 1977 - 1
  • September 1976 - 1
  • August 1975 - 1
  • August 1973 - 1
  • June 1973 - 0
  • April 1973 - 1
  • February 1973 - 0
  • November 1972 - 1
  • August 1972 - 1
  • June 1972 - 0
  • February 1972 - 0
  • January 1972 - 0
  • November 1971 - 1
  • August 1971 - 1
  • April 1971 - 1
  • October 1970 - 1
  • August 1970 - 0
  • January 1968 - 0

Looking through delivery tables, as far as I can tell until this year there had never been calendar months where only military/government 737s were delivered, meaning the only calendar months where no civil 737s have been delivered since December 1967 are:

  • January 1968
  • August 1970
  • January 1972
  • February 1972
  • June 1972
  • February 1973
  • June 1973
  • July 2019
  • August 2019

Holy crap! That is some backlog. I guess the decision to change rate will be made at the end of this month?

Boeing seems fairly confident the FAA will grant RTS status by November at the latest , but if not, I could see a scenario
where Boeing will temporarily wind down production around Thanksgiving and shutter the line by Christmas.

For the sake of all the employees and their families, I pray the RTS is granted soon.
