The Hong Kong might not be happening btw. Things are going on behind the scenes with the outstanding Hainan Airlines Holding group orders but the situation is currently unclear.

This will be the 1st delivery from their own direct order, earlier ones were sale and leaseback deliveries. Those are listed by Boeing as deliveries to the airline, not to the leasing company.

You are 100% wrong. If you are using Boeing's monthly delivery reports as the basis for your argument then you should stop as Boeing haven't shown any consistency in how they index the true customer for as long as I can remember. Suffice to say that none of 8 frames delivered to Avolon thus far have been sale and lease backs, they are Avolon's own orders.

I forgot the deliveries listed by Boeing as CIT are also Avolon. But before they bought CIT Avolon already "delivered" new frames to their customer, which were actually sale and lease back deals that were made before the aircraft was delivered. If you say that they only took delivery of 8 frames, it's only because of the deliveries from the CIT order, they will most likely tell us that they took delivery of many more.

So yes, you are correct that they are not a new customer, but it will be the 1st delivery of a frame from their own order placed in 2014 before the CIT deal.

Yes it's hard to keep up with the name changes and order tally. I've still no idea what's going on with ILFC and AerCap. They were ILFC then they changed to AerCap and were listed as sich and now they're ILFC again, yet the company no longer exists in that form. I've given up trying to make sense of it and have them all filed under AerCap since ILFC went pop years ago.

The msns often provide useful clues in ascertaining who the actual ordering party is as there'll be a block of consecutive numbers.

@ Delta28L: I know this. But I think MoonC is referring to the airframe directly behind the TK 787.

Did the factory tour 2 days ago. Can confirm that the Gulf Air frame directly behind the TK 787 in the photograph is wearing the 1983 livery on the tail. That should be a very sharp looking aircraft.

The original GulfAir livery didn’t had that gold line, it was black instead of gold , I remember that very well.

According to skyliner, LN 315 P4-BDL was ferried from AMS to SBD. Does anyone have more infos about that airframe? It was first rumored to have been picked up by Somon Air but that has gone quiet. Skyliner lists it as registered to Globaljet Luxembourg. It had been in AMS for about 1 1/2 years now. Was there any work performed? Or was it just stored?

Apparently Somon Air has delayed 787 introduction until 2022, now seeking (or has gotten??) a 767-300ER. This is the story back in June 2018. https://www.forbes.com/sites/martinrive ... 7eb7d536e5

P4-BDL is also not listed in Globaljet Luxembourg's website available for charter or sold or they are currently managing on client's behalf. https://www.globaljetconcept.com

Maybe she is starting her second desert storage tenure?

It was never for Somon Air according to Boeing data. It's nothing more than pure coincidence that Somon Air were looking for a 787 around the time of P4-BDLs first appearance at PDX and Global Jet happen to register their heavy metal on the Aruba register (Somon Air also use the Aruba register on occasion). The 2 are not linked. LN 315 was sold to Global Jet after the PrivatAir deal fell through. In the article linked above it says that Somon Air were looking to take one of the unwanted RJ 787s but for whatever reason it didn't happen.

This is pure speculation (although I expect it will get reposted as fact at some point, such is the internet), but I have a suspicion P4-BDL may be a replacement for 767 P4-MES.

I did indeed read on a Russian website (using Google Translate) that Abramovitch would get a 787 sometimes around this year.

It might have gone to SBD for paint. As did N507BJ I believe. https://www.flickr.com/photos/habujet/44336068960

Global Jet Concept are also the ones managing his 767 P4-MES.

That's very weird. It wasn't there when I was in it earlier today. Perhaps it has been updated. Let's see how it pans out in next few months. Thabjs RobK too for the clarification. I wonder why was she in AMS for 1.5 years without any movement. Was she being fitted out? I highly doubt so as most VVIP got their aircraft sorted out in Basel, Zurich or the USA.

Well that's strange since the 787 was listed there for at least a year or so. And I don't know why it was in AMS for that long, as you point out most VIP outfittings happen in Basel, or the U.S.

He is guessing at those registrations. They are not populated on Boeing's own master spreadsheet! As we've seen from yesterday's TK 787 flight, guesswork makes you look silly and lowers your credibility :

With a production of 14 per month is 787 selling enough per year?

What is the strategy?

How long is 14 per month planned to stay as production rate?

With a production of 14 per month is 787 selling enough per year?

How long is 14 per month planned to stay as production rate?

Leeham.net's analysis predicts that with current orders, Boeing can fill 2020 and 2021, but will only have enough scheduled deliveries to fill about half of 2022's production slots and 25% of 2023's production slots. From 2024 onwards, Boeing will only have enough scheduled deliveries to handle 10% or less of the available production slots.

Boeing has not made mention of a production cut, but unless Dubai this year and Farnborough next year bank a couple hundred 787s, then Boeing will likely have to announce a cut by mid-2020 in order to reduce the number of empty slots from 2022-onwards.

Just read the PR, stating "seating 367 passengers in a two-class configuration; 24 in business class and 343 in economy class". Is there no more Premium Economy, like on the B787-9, installed? BTW. will it get the same herringbone BusinessClass as the B787-9 or the much different A350 seating version?

WOW! That is one beautiful aircraft - since it was NTU, what is it going to be used for, what's the story behind the livery?

Global Jet Concept does indeed list a 787 under the Boeing tab in their managed aircraft list.

Still wondering what this planes is doing at AMS for so long, the Dutch climate isn't exactly ideal for storage.
