RR also use East Midlands for engine shipments. It just depends which airline they use, if it's a dedicated flight or a regular scheduled flight and the frequency of deliveries So it's the same reason why engines are not delivered directly to PAE but to SEA instead. Trucking an engine to a scheduled flight from airport a bit further away could easily be cheaper then bringing in a plane for a dedicated engine delivery flight.

With Airbus it might be different story as they will have more RR engines to be delivered to just one assembly location in Toulouse instead of the 2 production locations of the 787. Logistics is usually a matter of finding the best option in terms of costs.

Does anyone have the official registration of line 924 and 936 (Bamboo AW)?
There are some pictures showed that the reg is VN-A815 and -A819, but I don't know which airframe owns which reg.

Just a picture of one of QH's 789 with the 815 reg painted in the front gear cover piece.

P/s: Bamboo Airways confirmed that those 2 airframes will be delivered and arrive HAN on 22nd December. Hope that they will apply a beautiful special sticker/livery on their first B789s :D.
If you disagree with my statement, assume that it was just a joke :duck:

Registration of LN936 is VN-A819. I don't know for LN924 as it hasn't rolled out of the paint hangar yet. I hope they put some sort of a special decal on it as technically that's their first 787.

The quoted pic is exactly LN924, VN-A815, with no cs spotted. However, QH usually chooses one of their partners in MPL for special liveries. For example, VN-A596 with its formal livery painted in Toulouse, but then it ferried MPL for the "Fly Green" livery. The same with VN-A590 with "Thank you..." cs. Don't know why did they do that :D

P/s: hope this "Fly Green" cs will be applied for their 787s too :)

I have seen flatbeds carrying them up Interstate 405 from SEA to PAE so I imagine they landed at SEA on a commercial 747-400F.

This is correct, see this tweet: https://twitter.com/sft_group/status/10 ... 6587424768

They truck them from Derby to STN from where they are flown to America.

Derby???
I stand to be corrected but isn`t Trent 1000 a Singapore built engine? Perhaps with all the troubles associated with this model
Derby is involved to take up the slack with -TEN along with Singapore?

Singapore is one of five Rolls-Royce global hubs. The other four are in India, China, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom. The Singapore hub covers Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and Turkey.

That's indeed correct. They do durability tests in Derby, so that's why engines are shipped to and from that facility as well,

The answer to the original question stays the same, the engines are delivered to the Boeing facilities using commercial cargo flights. Either from Singapore or from England where it was tested. With all the issues there will have been plenty of flights to and from the MRO facilities and the locations of the affected airlines.

Most T1000s are built, tested and directly delivered from Singapore with a few still being built in Derby.

I can see some airlines preferring PAE because all their personnel related to overseeing and accepting Boeings are no doubt in the Seattle area. Of course with the 787-10 you have no choice but to take CHS.

Qatar Airways? :rotfl:

Regarding KL, what I read they were indeed not entirely satisfied with the quality of their 787-10's. I'm not sure to what extend this had an influence on KL's delayed plan to introduce their 787-10 on the Curacao route which was supposed to start at the end of March next year. This has now been moved to July of next year or later.

Bamboo's first B789, VN-A819 (line 936) is named "Ha Long Bay" (aka "Vịnh Hạ Long" in Vietnamese).
Bamboo also announced that they will set a name for every B787-9 in the future. Those frames will be named after Vietnam's famous places and historical characters :).

Well in fact, the fourth frame should be B-206R [62725/752], as ch-aviation reported (last week) and Vietnamese newpapers (3 months ago :) ).
That frame must be stored weeks ago, based on FR24's data.

Fourth one could be 62722 / 640 B-1341 or 62712 / 446 B-7835

Well in fact, the fourth frame should be B-206R [62725/752], as ch-aviation reported (last week) and Vietnamese newpapers (3 months ago :) ).
That frame must be stored weeks ago, based on FR24's data.

There are quite a few 787s that Hainan seem to have stored. It's a real possibility that there will be more then just the 2 frames heading to Bamboo that will go to new operators in the near future.
