Combined with an 'Investment Opportunity'.
Are they already running out of cash?

FLC (Bamboo's parent group) is finding some good shareholders for Bamboo.
And YES, they need bunches of fresh money to firm up the MoU of 50x A321neos and 20 (more) B787-9s ;). Besides that, Bamboo & FLC seem running out of money to firm up the order of 10 B789s, and to lease more than 20 A320/321.
In fact, since the launch in February 2019, Bamboo sadly (and disappointingly) didn't make any profit. FLC hopes Bamboo will find some first fresh bills of money in the first half of 2020 :)

Still a big question whether QR will accept this frame, meticulous as they are complaining about the tiniest scratch mark.
It's gonna be quite a task removing any smell of smoke from the interior.

We'll see.

Honestly not sure what it would be, but perhaps this is one of the delayed delivery planes getting new Qsuites? Not sure if that is something Boeing is handling, Qatar, or the seat supplier. Or if there is anything related to that process that could spark a fire.

May have also been battery related. United had smoke in the cockpit of one of their aircraft recently and there was no major issues after the fact.

According the blog " all things787 " six Qatar 789's (A7-BHA, -B, -C, -D, -E and -G) were delivered (on paper) at December 20th .

See : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=9

However i was unable to track any Qatar 789 delivery flights from Paine Field from that date

Also according this Everett flight line picture seven Qatar 789's were still present at December 23th

Anybody any idea about the actual delivery flight dates?

This will be British Airways first 78X. Currently parked at Charleston.

And here's an overview of the flightline. Leading the way is another special livery for Etihad Airways. They are calling this one the 'Greenliner' and you can find more info at https://www.etihad.com/en/about-us/etihad-news/archive/2019/etihad-and-boeing-unveil-the-etihad-greenliner-to-explore-blue-sky-opportunities-to-cut-co2-emissions/.

Wow! That would be one big welcome! Is Qatar Airways retiring any of their current fleet soon with the 787-10 delivery? Seem a big capacity jump!

According the Boeing Order & Delivery page (updated through November 2019) Qatar Airways has 30 (minus the four delivered at Dec 26th) 789 aircraft on order.
No 787-10 aircraft have been ordered , but some B789 delivery positions may be converted into B78X deliveries in a later stage.
AFAIK Qatar A330-200 aircraft are slowly withdrawn and returned to the lessor(s), 12 have been withdrawn, six are left
The Qatar A330-300 fleet (13 aircraft) will be next.

Oh sure, QR can get four deliveries at once, UA was trying for three, and only managed one.. and that was a day late. The other two are still pending. :banghead:

Three Qatar B789 aircraft are still at Paine Field :

A7-BHC performed her first Customer acceptance (C1) flight at December 14th
A7-BHF performed her second Customer acceptance (C2) flight at December 21th
A7-BHG performed her first Customer acceptance (C1) flight at December 17th

I don't know what the verdict was after these acceptance flights, but all three will be delivered asap.

-BHF,-BHC,-BHG have officially left PAE, for DOH now. Delivery flights as followed:
-BHC https://www.flightradar24.com/QTR3350/2354f749
-BHF https://www.flightradar24.com/QTR3380/23550b94
-BHG https://www.flightradar24.com/QTR3388/2354ff0d

However, not as soon as a day later. The previously delivered frames -BHA,-BHB,-BHE-BHD, are making their way back to the US, across the globe. This time the frames are VCV imbound. Looks like these four family members will enjoy a jolly stay, sunbathing in the Californian sun as they will receive their interior treatment over here.

VCV flights as followed:

-BHB https://www.flightradar24.com/QTR3253/2354e7cf
-BHE https://www.flightradar24.com/QTR3255/2354e6d3
-BHD https://www.flightradar24.com/QTR3257/2354fd7b

Why in the world are they flying them to DOH to fly them all the way back to VCV? What sense does that make?

it does seem a bit odd when they could just position them just to VCV from PAE. Anyway with all the QR 789's now delivered there have been 20 787's delivered this month. UA should take another 787-10 and Bamboo should take its second 789 which would make 22 787's delivered for the month, a new record btw

My GUESS is they had to be actually exported to satisfy various customs and/or Export Finance requirements.

That would be the only reasonable explanation

These 3x QR B789 flights PAE-DOH and 4x QR B789 flights DOH-VCV will shortly pass eachother North-East of Iceland.

It would be QR if they have demanded delivery before 1st Jan and Boeing if they forced delivery to finalise deliveries for the new year. My money would be on Boeing

Probably QR or the Qatar government as it's not of any interest for Boeing to do this. Boeing will only be intested in the cheque they receive, not the destination of a destination flight.

I fully suspect that this has a political background, with the state of Qatar comitting to trade deals they have with the US. A delivery would not count as an import if it's not cleared by Qatar customs.

AAB will not complain when these deliveries are ordered by the people who pay his salary.

It's a 787-9 l/n 940, originally a Suparna order NTU, sold to UAE, presumably to join the VIP fleet.
