Beautiful little plane! As is Azul's new E2-195..Are the E2-190s certified to fly to LCY like the E-190s? Do we also know Helvetic's configuration? Will it be 114pax like Wideroe or more comfortable?

The E195-E2 Tech Leopard was hanging around the Alaska hangar about a month ago... I wouldn’t be surprised to see a combined order for the 175-E2 and for the 195-E2. The smaller Ejet could actually work for the Horizon operation as AS is the only US airline that doesn’t have a scope clause. The unfortunate thing would be if the lack of scope encouraged the Alaska Air Group to give the 195 to Horizon as well. It really should fall in the category of a mainline aircraft. Either way, an order from AS would be great to see!

LCY certification was originally planned for 2019, but I do not know if it happened yet. Helvetic will most probably also fly to LCY with the 190-E2 (wet-lease for LX as they do now with the E1).
They have 110 seats in the E2 (vs. 104 and 112 in their E1).

Cannot wait to see the whole plane. I wonder if Wideroe is still considering replacing some Q400 with this E175-E2?

Embraer nailed reliability. Deliver, familiarize employees/press and fly the next day!

Hopefully Embraer is getting enough airlines to review data. As a Pratt fan, I want more in service! No risk of above 91% N1 in the E2-190 (aircraft over-engined).

I kind of have lost track of E2 successes lately.

Embraer has an incredible track record for developing new airplanes. If Boeing Brazil is given the FSA program I wonder how the flight deck will look like. Will it be like Embraer cockpit or a Boeing 787 cockpit? I believe they eventually should get a common cockpit design. I know it will take a revision or 10 before we get there. But it will be interesting to see.

Great news for the E2 program:

Source: https://embraer.com/global/en/news?slug ... r-aircraft

"KLM Firms Up Order for E195-E2 Jets and Adds Six Further Aircraft"

Excerpt:

"Amsterdam, Netherlands, November 12, 2019 – Embraer and KLM Cityhopper have signed a firm order for 21 E195-E2 aircraft, plus 14 purchase rights.
The 21 firm positions will be acquired via operating lease from Embraer lessor partners Aircastle and ICBC Aviation Leasing.
The order was previously announced as a Letter of Intent for 15 firm orders with 20 purchase rights at the Paris Air Show earlier this year.
With all purchase rights exercised the deal would have a value of USD 2.48 billion.

The aircraft for this order will come from the existing backlogs of lessors Aircastle and ICBC Aviation Leasing;
each providing KLM with 11 and 10 E195-E2s, respectively."

This order adds confidence to both the program and the leasing companies that believe in the potencial of E2 and have placed orders since its launch.
These planes will look amazing in the colors of KLM !!!

This is great news. I personally was very concerned on the Aircastle order. I am still concerned on the E2-190 portion of Aircastle's order.

I tho

While this doesn't put a new order on the books, it gives confidence for other orders.

There are three order campaigns in work:
TAM (estimated 13)
IAG (unknown quantity)
TK (unknown quantity)

Firming KLM allows to focus on these and other potential orders. Helping the leasing companies ensures they will take the risk of speculative orders in the future.

Kudos to KLM for firming 21.

Except the original announcement last june was a LoI for 15 firms + 20 purchase rights. It was suppose to be a new order, not a leasing contract from an existing order.

Embraer announced today, at the 53rd International Paris Air Show, KLM Cityhopper’s intention to purchase up to 35 E195-E2 jets, 15 firm orders with purchase rights for a further 20 aircraft of the same model.

Either that or a double promotion. :duck:

Yes. Either way, 3 potential new orders.

But back to a little celebration. One of the leasing companies just cleared their firm orders. That means any further leases are new orders.

Aircastle cleared a good part of their obligation. That means a future order is more likely to top off.

I dont see this as good news, In fact, reading between the lines, id be even more worried. This looks like the leasing companies are struggling to sell them to airlines themselves, so KLM took them instead, the firm orders are down by 9.

So the first E175-E2 is out and ready for being the tests! The engines don't look that big as was expecting (in this angle I mean)

Good to know. Hopefully, the GTF gremlins wouldn't haunt this model. Would love to fly on it...if it could compete well economically with the turboprops doing the island runs in the Philippines!... :airplane: ...

Well renders aren’t always going to be 100% accurate, I’d like to see more of the actual aircraft.

When is the certification target? Is it in 2021?

I hope Pratt & Whitney will have fixed all the issues with the engines by then.
