Re: Airbus A330neo Production/Delivery Thread - 2019

This FlightGlobal piece suggests that A330neo sales might have been hampered to some extent by the RR engine issues:

FlightGlobal wrote:
There is an argument that concerns about the engine's durability – following the Trent 1000 issues, and with the production system that delayed the Neo's service entry – has caused operators to shy away from the re-engined widebody.

It’s hard to tell from the picture, do they really not have individual reading lights for each seat?

In the picture I see sets of 4 in the middle and sets of 3 lights on the sides, so I guess they do

I was talking more about the spacing. Is there a set above each row? The angle makes it hard to tell.

For a 3-4 hour flight this is fine, but I hope I will never find myself on a 10-11 hour flight on this bird.

Boeing and Airbus foresee a rush in WB ordering in the first half of the twenties. Airbus is holding out for that with the A330NEO's.

Plus potential F derivatives. The 251t versions are available 12 months or so from now and may add interest.

But, isn't the other maker evil for 9 across?

Seriously, the A330NEO will do well for airlines that can earn more for 8 across and the ULCC in 9 across.
