The F9 press release (https://news.flyfrontier.com/frontier-a ... ladelphia/) indicated PNS-PHL will be 3x weekly.

I must say F9's survival in the PNS market is a pleasant surprise. Many, myself included, were a little pessimistic that F9 could survive in the market. However, PNS-DEN and PNS-ORD have both survived (year-round!) and now PHL is being added. It's funny, prior to last summer, PNS-PHL had never been flown before, now you'll have two carriers in the market (AA and F9).

The tip thing is definitely not new. First time I remember seeing it was in October 2016 on an MCO-DEN flight, and have seen it plenty of times since on flights all throughout 2017 and 2018 (even when I don’t purchase anything, I can see it on the screen when they hand the device to other passengers).

One interesting thing I see quite a bit, though, is FAs skipping through that screen before handing passengers (myself included) the device. As in when the tip screen comes up, the FA hits the “No gratuity” (or something like that) option, clicks “next”, and then hands the passenger the device to sign and then give back to the FA. I definitely think I see them doing that way more often than handing passengers the device with the tip screen pulled up. In fact, the only time I think I was asked for a tip was that aforementioned MCO-DEN flight in October 2016, and I’ve flown F9 many, many, many, many times since then.

F9 announced BDL a few weeks back with 3x weekly (I believe seasonal) service to DEN, a route already flown by UA and WN. A couple days ago they also announced BDL-RDU (already served by DL) seasonal service and now I am hearing BDL-MCO (4 carries on the route) seasonal service starts in May. Any other routes we can possibly see added to BDL? Its nice to see F9 back at BDL for a third time however I feel they could pack up and leave tomorrow with their track record.

I totally agree, I'm not impressed and not optimistic either. Its hard to offer less than daily service, especially with multiple carriers offering daily service.

Some of F9's recent adds seem to be picking up some extra slack from services that have ended like BWI-MCO on B6 and DTW-LAS for WN.

Most likely, none or very few of those routes will happen. It could be even crazier than that!

They brought back MEM-PHL for Summer 2019 so someone bought tickets. I could easily see MEM-BOS if they are serious about BOS. MEM is begging for that one the most

Would Frontier ever start bypassing their DEN hub and start offering some "thin" transcon flights. Routes like LAX / LAS to PVD, PWM, SYR and GRR.

F9 already has nonstop service to LAS from ATL, RSW, JAX, ORF, MCO, RDU, TPA, and IAD on the East Coast. In addition, F9 has already announced plans to serve LAS nonstop from PHL starting on April 30th.

GRR is also actually closer to LAS than some of the other destinations that already have nonstop service to LAS on F9.

F9 has already dropped some nonstop routes out of LAX, and DEN, ATL, and CVG are also the only destinations still served nonstop out of LAX on F9.

The last thing any American carrier should do is jump into the Canada-Sun destination markets. 90% Canada point of sale in a country with no distribution presence ( places like flight center are still important in distribution). High taxes and high airport costs.

You are correct ....... B6, WN, F9, and even sunwing at Buffalo Intentional airport make a KILLLLLLLING off Canadians flying pretty much anywhere to florida, Phoenix, and vegas. Those are the most popular routes.

The legacy carriers dont even attempt those routes. They just stick to their hub and spoke model.

Frontier will now request for tips on all purchases.

The logical conclusion is to have the FAs holding out tip jars next to the exit slides during an evacuation.

Anybody seeing any new routes from existing hubs outside of TYR?

Interestingly - lots of smaller routes you wouldn’t expect appear to be getting extended into next winter (Bismarck, Huntsville, etc.)

What’s the story with Frontier at Sarasota SRQ, I knew that Atlanta and Philadelphia were going to be seasonal, but I don’t see any available flights in the fall. Will it only be Cleveland now? And the few connections they offer thru CLE that are super expensive and crazy hours. Do they have plans to go somewhere else from SRQ?

While F9 doesn't currently serve SRQ nonstop from DEN, F9 will probably add DEN-SRQ nonstop service on at least a seasonal basis as F9 usually serves DEN nonstop from most of its destinations in the contiguous U.S.

F9 adding SRQ-CVG is another possibility, even though F9 hasn't added any new nonstop domestic routes out of CVG since July 2017.

It is typical Frontier to suspend early fall flights to smaller outlier stations. I would guess ATL and PHL will resume once the snowbird migration is in full swing. As another has said, there will be some new fall/winter route announcements forthcoming before too long.

That's weird, they already have LAS-GSP. AS I mentioned in the JetBlue thread, Frontier has been killing it here at GSP; wife and kids flew to Denver Monday night and she said the plane was completely full. Either Frontier or JB should add GSP-BOS ASAP. There are so many Boston transplants down here, it's crazy.

I know this is being discussed on the Paris Air Show pages but thought I’d mention it here as well (sorry if this is frowned upon).

Crazy that Indigo Partners has altered and added to a previous order to bring on 50 A321XLR starting in 2023. With 18 of them slated to go to Frontier.

What in the world is F9 gonna do with these bad boys? Run them at max seating capacity? Less seats for more range? Frontier would be stupid not to run flights out of Vegas or Denver to Hawaii...they could bring in a lot of connecting traffic as well.

Idk....I just love Frontier (don’t ask me why) and I am beyond excited for this.

Maybe an agreement between Wizz and Frontier for connecting Europe to the States?

Not really finding much new or interesting so far in the new Frontier period at this point. The new CVG flights (sub-daily New Orleans and Florida) are out there but they actually start about five weeks before the end of the existing schedule period. So that's likely the result of some warm-season flights getting their seasonal schedule terminated early or a new aircraft. There are definitely some year-over-year frequency adjustments and I've seen and some seasonal stuff from last winter not coming back, but there's certain to be some new stuff rolled out not showing in the new period yet.

Regarding MKE specifically the sub-daily SAN flight is not coming back, though it isn’t a surprise given that when they pulled the relatively new SAN-MKE/IND/PIT flights in early 2019 it didn’t seem they were returning, and indeed none of those three are. However they are upping MKE flights to Florida and Phoenix which more than offset that loss – February appears to be up about 15% on flights and 10% on seats from last year. In particular MKE-MCO is going to daily with A321, and both MKE-TPA and MKE-RSW have consistent daily nonstops with (coveted) early morning southbound and evening northbound for both markets. At an airline not afraid to schedule flights as suboptimal times, where countless markets are less than daily, and departure times can bounce around from day to day having early morning flights to both Tampa and Fort Myers seven days a week suggests they are moneymakers to prioritize. It would be nice to see them add a Miami or Fort Lauderdale flight once the season gets going.

Looks like MDT-MCO is bumped up from 3x weekly to 4x weekly this winter. G4 recently went daily on MDT-SFB.

Now that F9’s schedule extension is out there should be new proclamations from the dart board soon.

SBA-DEN is going seasonal, supposedly coming back, but guess we’ll see. UA at 4x daily to DEN with soon 2 of those on mainline and DL adding 3x daily SLC may have chased them out of the market.

BFM is running pretty much full to/from DEN according to local news and over eighty percent to/from ORD. This is great for an airport and market that is only 3.5 months old.

Looking at F9's winter schedule, it looks like BFM-DEN stays 3x week through March and BFM-ORD goes on seasonal hiatus in mid-November.

From what I've heard most flights are over 80%. I'm hoping this will mean new routes out of XNA for Frontier.

Does anyone know how the flights from BMI are performing? I hope DEN and MCO are doing well.
